Accounting Project Consultant

Baseline Accounting | Remote | Contract / Project-Based

About the Role

Baseline is an accounting project firm specializing in system migrations, accounting cleanup and catch-up work, reconciliations, and finance stack implementations.

We work with businesses and accounting teams on complex, time-sensitive projects—helping them improve their systems, clean up their financial data, and complete projects without disrupting their day-to-day operations.

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Project Consultant who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and delivering successful project outcomes for clients.

What You’ll Do
Lead and support end-to-end accounting projects and system migrations
Migrate accounting data and ensure the accuracy of historical balances and transactions
Perform accounting cleanups, catch-up work, and reconciliations
Set up and configure accounting systems, charts of accounts, dimensions, classes, and reporting structures
Improve accounting processes, workflows, and reporting for better visibility
Collaborate with clients and their accounting teams to meet project goals and timelines
Document work, share knowledge, and provide practical accounting and system recommendations
Support implementation, conversion, and other finance-related projects as needed

What You Bring
Accounting experience in public practice, industry, or client-service environments
Hands-on experience with system migrations, implementations, cleanups, or accounting conversion projects

Proficiency with accounting platforms such as:
QuickBooks Desktop & Online
Xero
Sage Intacct
NetSuite
or similar accounting systems
Strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a remote environment
Strong communication and client-facing skills

CPA designation is an advantage

This role is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys project-based work rather than routine bookkeeping, can work independently, and is comfortable stepping into complex accounting and system-related projects.
