JOB OVERVIEW

You'll collaborate with me, a content creator, on my YouTube channels by providing illustrations and graphics that complement and enhance mostly "faceless" long-form videos (explainer, listicle, and on occasion, vlog-style videos). The channels focus on entertaining, educational topics. You'll help grow the channel audience and engagement by crafting visually stimulating illustrations that are both easy-to-grasp, yet also reflect a unique visual style consistent with the channel brand.

What's expected of you:

• good English and communication skills

• meet a standard of quality under deadline within a busy production schedule

For example, for a 5 minute faceless explainer video, I may ask you to produce an illustration that visually reinforces or enhances the voiceover narrative content for every 5 to 15 seconds of the video. So that would be a total of about 30 illustrations for the 1 video. We'd establish together a reasonable deadline for producing those 30 illustrations. I'll handle video ideation, scripting, voiceover recording, editing and publication.

The more efficient you are (we both are), the more videos we can publish per week, and the faster the channel(s) will grow. We'll find a pace that's workable for both of us. I don't want you to rush or burn out. Yet I also want us to keep up with an effective publishing schedule.

• freedom to choose the design applications you like to use (for example, Illustrator, Photoshop or Procreate). You'll be submitting work in standard formats for incorporating them into videos during editing phase (for example, compressed JPG or PNG files).

These illustrations will be sketches—mostly black & white, grayscale or using a simple color palette—not super-detailed masterpieces. Think cartoons, doodles, or simple line drawings. Their purpose is to illustrate the idea or point being made at a given juncture in the narrative. Speed is more important than perfection.

• opportunity for professional development—for example, adding video thumbnail design, digital animation, video editing and/or book illustrating to your skillset
• eventually, when the channel(s) are profitable, a chance to share in the rewards

full-time position — 40 hours/week
salary — $750/month to start, with performance-based raises

Work schedule:
full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours
after the trial period, you'll quality for 3 vacation leaves and 3 sick leaves
Filipino holidays off except for All Saints and All Souls Day

Benefits:
13th month

The hiring process will have 2 rounds:

Round 1 — apply by submitting a cover letter (NOTE: no AI, please), resume and, most importantly, a portfolio of your best work similar to what you'd be doing in this position. I'll choose 3 candidates for Round 2 based on a review of these materials.

Round 2 — a 30-minute videoconference interview + a trial mini-project. I'll pay the 3 of you $5/hour to complete a sample project of 5 illustrations. I'll share with you a video voiceover script. Once you read the script and understand the project scope, you'll tell me how many hours you think it'll take you to complete the 5 illustrations and how long it'll take.

For the person I hire, there will be a 90-day fully paid trial period to see if we're a good fit.
