JOB OVERVIEW

Local Launchpad helps UK local service businesses (landscapers, roofers, electricians, plumbers etc) dominate Google through high-converting websites, SEO and Google Business Profile optimisation.

We launched in June and already have 9+ paying clients, scaling toward hundreds. This is a real opportunity to get in early on something built to scale fast — not a one-off project.

We need a designer who can also build: someone who designs genuinely excellent, high-converting websites AND builds them properly in WordPress (Custom Post Types, ACF Pro field groups) so they plug into our automated systems. If you're strong at one but not the other, this probably isn't the right fit.

WHAT THE BUILD INVOLVES:

Designing four core page templates (Homepage, Service Page, Location Page, Category Page) to a genuinely excellent, high-converting standard

Building those designs out in WordPress, structured as Custom Post Types with ACF Pro field groups (not hardcoded — every section needs to be dynamic so it can be populated per client)

Making sure the structure is clean enough that content can later be pushed in automatically (we handle the automation side separately — you don't need that experience, just need to structure things sensibly)

Fast-loading, mobile-optimised, clean code — your call on coded PHP or a builder like Elementor/Bricks, your reasoning either way

WHAT YOU NEED:

A genuinely excellent eye for design — this is the single most important thing. Technically competent but average-looking work will not be considered.

Real, hands-on WordPress build experience — not just design mockups, actual shipped, live sites

ACF Pro experience — Custom Post Types, field groups

Comfortable working from a written spec and flagging anything unclear rather than guessing

Someone who communicates proactively — flags problems and delays before they become a problem, not after

Good written English, you'll be communicating directly with me

Ideally some SEO Experience would be great too and if you have SEO experience, ideally with helping local businesses please detail that too!
