JOB OVERVIEW

About the role
[Company] is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build and scale our SaaS platform. You'll own features end to end across a modern React and Node.js stack, set the bar for clean, consistent and secure code, and help level up a growing team that includes more junior developers and DevOps engineers. This is a hands-on role for someone who ships at pace without cutting corners.
What you'll do
• Design, build and ship features end to end across the front end (React) and back end (Node.js).
• Write clean, consistent, secure and well-tested code, and hold that standard in code review.
• Deliver at pace in a fast-moving environment, balancing speed with quality and maintainability.
• Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines so the team can release quickly and safely.
• Deploy, monitor and maintain services on AWS.
• Mentor junior developers and DevOps engineers — through pairing, reviews and sharing good practice.
• Work closely with product, design and the wider engineering team to turn requirements into working software.
• Contribute to technical decisions, architecture and continuous improvement of how we build.
Essential skills & experience
• 5–7 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong React — component architecture, hooks, state management, performance.
• Strong Node.js — building and maintaining REST/GraphQL APIs and services.
• Proficient with Git / GitHub and pull-request-based workflows.
• Hands-on CI/CD experience with automated deployments.
• Practical AWS experience (e.g. EC2/ECS/Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM).
• Secure coding track record and awareness of common vulnerabilities (e.g. OWASP Top 10).
• A genuine problem-solver who stays calm and effective under time pressure.
• A collaborative team player who enjoys mentoring and lifting the people around them.
• Able to work UK business hours, 10:00am–6:00pm.
Technical skills (our stack)
• Languages: JavaScript, TypeScript
• Front end: React (Next.js a strong plus), modern CSS/styling
• Back end: Node.js (Express / NestJS / Fastify or similar)
• Database & ORM: PostgreSQL, Prisma (or comparable ORM)
• DevOps & cloud: GitHub Actions (or similar CI/CD), Docker, AWS
• Testing: Jest / Vitest, integration and end-to-end testing
• Security: secure coding practices, authentication/authorisation, data protection awareness
Nice to have
• Next.js and server-side rendering experience
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform / AWS CDK)
• Experience in B2B SaaS or HR / people-tech
• Experience mentoring or leading within a small, fast-moving team
Working arrangement
• Remote, working UK hours (10:00am–6:00pm) for strong overlap with the team.
• Collaborative team environment with junior developers and DevOps engineers you'll help mentor.
