JOB OVERVIEW

Architectural Drafter

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Architectural Drafter with New York (NYC) project experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong background in producing Construction Documents (CDs) and creating accurate, construction-ready drawings for residential and/or commercial projects.

Candidates must hold the necessary professional license(s) or credentials required to practice architecture in New York State.

The ideal candidate has excellent technical drafting skills, is highly detail-oriented, communicates well in English, and can work independently while collaborating with U.S.-based architects and project managers.

Responsibilities
Prepare complete Construction Document (CD) sets for residential and commercial projects.
Produce architectural drawings, including:
Floor Plans
Elevations
Building Sections
Roof Plans
Site Plans
Construction Details
Create, update, and revise drawings using AutoCAD Architecture.
Interpret redlines, sketches, markups, and verbal instructions accurately.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure drawing accuracy and project compliance.
Prepare as-built drawings and implement revisions when required.
Ensure all drawings comply with NYC Building Codes, Zoning Regulations, and U.S. drafting standards.
Maintain organized drawing files, proper layering, sheet formatting, and documentation standards.

Requirements
At least 4 years of Architectural Drafting experience.
Required: Candidates must hold the necessary professional license(s) or credentials to practice architecture in New York State, such as a New York State Architecture license, where applicable.
Required: Previous experience working on New York (NYC) projects.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture.
Extensive experience preparing Construction Documents (CDs).
Ability to produce accurate, construction-ready drawings with minimal supervision.
Strong understanding of:
NYC Building Codes
Zoning Regulations
Construction Assemblies
Material Specifications
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience preparing drawings for NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) submissions and permitting.
Previous experience working remotely with U.S.-based or NYC-based architectural firms.
Experience with Revit, BIM, or other drafting software is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.

Work Schedule
Monday to Friday
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
