JOB OVERVIEW

1. You have your own licensed copy of EPLAN or equivalent professional electrical design software.
2. You have significant experience designing industrial automation/control panels, not just electrical drafting.
3. You can design and size a panel independently, rather than requiring an engineer to design it for you.
4. You understand modern PLC automation including PROFINET, IO-Link, remote I/O, VSDs, instrumentation and safety circuits.
5. You can provide examples of electrical drawings you have personally produced.

PTI Pacific is an Australian engineering company designing and manufacturing automated process equipment for the food, beverage and industrial sectors.

We are looking for an experienced electrical engineer/designer to support us as an hourly contractor on a project-by-project basis. This is not a full-time position at this stage, it will be project based.

You will produce complete, professional electrical drawing packages for our machinery and process skids. We will provide examples of our existing projects and expect new drawings to follow a similar modern, high-quality colour format.

Typical scope includes:

* Electrical schematics and control-panel layouts
* 3-phase power distribution, circuit protection and component sizing
* 24 VDC control systems and power supplies
* Siemens PLCs, distributed/remote I/O and HMI systems
* PROFINET and industrial Ethernet networks
* IO-Link masters, sensors and actuators
* VSD/VFD motor circuits and motor protection
* Safety relays and machine safety circuits
* Process instrumentation, analogue and digital I/O
* Terminal plans, cable schedules, BOMs and device identification
* Panel load calculations and component selection
* Drawing revisions and as-built documentation

Our equipment commonly uses industrial brands such as Siemens, IFM, SMC, Weidmüller, Bürkert and Alfa Laval

You must be experienced enough to work autonomously from information such as P&IDs, I/O lists, equipment datasheets, project specifications and our previous drawings. We are looking for someone capable of electrical design as well as drafting.

Experience with Australian electrical standards, particularly AS/NZS 3000, and machinery/control-panel design is strongly preferred.

This role would suit an experienced electrical engineer, industrial electrician, automation engineer or senior electrical designer with practical control-panel experience.
