JOB OVERVIEW

SCOPE OF WORK (GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION)

EDITOR needed to refine rough cuts for a large English-speaking IRL travel streamer. We make the first rough cut and organize all the footage. Your job is to make the video flow.

Your outcome is to:
1. Open our project file and review the rough timeline.
2. Fix the cut points so every scene starts and ends at the right moment.
3. Tighten or remove slow sections so the video plays smoothly from start to finish.

Success is a timeline that flows naturally and is ready for our finishing team. You will not build the video from scratch. You will not add graphics, captions, translations, or title cards. We do those.

KEY BULLET POINTS

- Required: You edit in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Tell us which one you use.
- Required: You understand spoken English very well, including fast talking and slang.
- Required: You are comfortable cutting scenes where people speak languages you do not know (some scenes have Mandarin).
- Required: Fast, stable internet. You will download large video files for every job.
- Required: You can return a finished timeline within 2 days of receiving the project.
- Ideal: You already watch IRL or travel streamers.
- Ideal: You have edited long videos (30 to 60 minutes) before.
- Ideal: You understand some Chinese (Mandarin). You do not need to be fluent.

OVERVIEW AND DETAILS

The streamer walks around cities in Asia (Japan, Korea, China), eats street food, meets people, and talks with his chat. The videos are dialogue-heavy. We (Hansei GG) produce his YouTube videos. Our team makes the rough cut and puts all footage into labeled bins by chapter. You are the pass in the middle: fix the boundaries, make it flow. After you, our team adds the polish.

Good fit: Editors who care about story, pacing, and clean cuts.
Bad fit: Motion graphics artists looking for effects work. Editors who want full creative control.

EXAMPLES OF FIXES WE EXPECT

- Good: The scene starts right as the story begins, not 20 seconds before.
- Good: A conversation ends on the punchline, then cuts to the next scene.
- Bad: A scene starts in the middle of a sentence.
- Bad: 30 seconds of silent walking left between two stories.

EDITING DETAILS

For each video you receive: a project file, the rough-cut timeline, and footage organized into bins labeled by chapter. You adjust cut points, trim or remove sections, and smooth the audio at each cut so it does not pop. You return the same project file with the timeline fixed. Keep all bins and file names as they are.

PAY

Rate: $8/hr USD, tracked. Paid by PayPal after each video is approved. Rate agreed in writing before your first paid job. No payment before work is delivered.
