As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to help us build strong financial systems and maintain accurate, timely financial records.
The Role
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial recordkeeping of Yes! Athletics. This person will ensure our books are accurate, organized, and up to date while providing leadership with clear visibility into the financial health of the business.
This role is ideal for someone who loves organization, numbers, and creating order from complexity. The right candidate will be proactive, dependable, and comfortable working with a growing entrepreneurial company.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Records
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Record and categorize all business transactions.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and other financial accounts monthly.
Manage accounts payable and ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time.
Track accounts receivable and outstanding invoices.
Maintain organized records of receipts, expenses, and supporting documentation.
Identify and correct discrepancies or errors in financial records.
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements.
Prepare and maintain Balance Sheet reporting.
Assist with cash flow tracking and forecasting.
Provide the CEO with timely financial summaries and insights.
Help track revenue, expenses, gross margins, and profitability by product category or sales channel when applicable.
Monitor key financial trends and flag potential concerns.
E-Commerce & Inventory Support
Reconcile sales data from Shopify and other sales channels.
Ensure sales, refunds, fees, discounts, and payment processing transactions are accurately recorded.
Assist with tracking inventory-related financial transactions.
Work with the operations team to ensure inventory purchases and costs are accurately reflected in the financial records.
Help maintain accurate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reporting.
Compliance & Tax Preparation Support
Maintain organized financial records for tax preparation.
Assist in gathering information requested by the company's CPA or tax professionals.
Track and organize documentation related to sales tax, business expenses, and other financial obligations.
Assist with year-end financial preparation and reporting.
Financial Systems & Process Improvement
Help establish efficient bookkeeping processes as the company grows.
Recommend improvements to financial workflows and reporting.
Maintain strong internal controls and documentation.
Help create systems that give leadership greater visibility into the company's financial performance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.
Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
Experience reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills.
High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.
E-commerce accounting and reconciliation.
Inventory-based businesses.
Consumer products, apparel, footwear, or retail businesses.
Cash flow forecasting.
Working with small, high-growth companies.
Multi-channel sales and payment platforms.
