We’re looking for a talented, creative, and reliable Video Editor to help build and scale founder-led content across major social platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who understands storytelling, social media, pacing, and how to turn raw footage into content people actually want to watch.
You’ll work with a mix of founder footage, behind-the-scenes content, conversations, travel, events, product walkthroughs, educational content, and day-to-day building-in-public footage.
The footage will often be raw.
Your job is to find the story inside it.
What You’ll Work On
You’ll edit:
- Founder-led long-form videos
- Building-in-public content
- Behind-the-scenes startup footage
- Educational and thought-leadership videos
- YouTube videos
- LinkedIn and X video content
- Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts
- Clips repurposed from longer recordings
- Travel, office, event, and day-in-the-life footage
- Product and software demos when needed
Key Responsibilities
- Turn raw footage into polished, engaging videos
- Identify the strongest hooks, moments, and storylines
- Edit both short-form and long-form content
- Create strong pacing, rhythm, transitions, and narrative flow
- Add captions, text, graphics, screenshots, B-roll, and supporting visuals where appropriate
- Handle sound design, audio cleanup, color correction, and basic motion graphics
- Repurpose long-form recordings into multiple short-form pieces
- Optimize videos for YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms
- Maintain a consistent visual style across all content
- Collaborate directly on ideas, creative direction, and storytelling
- Manage multiple pieces of content and deliver consistently
What We’re Looking For
You should have:
- Proven experience editing social media and digital content
- A strong portfolio of work you personally edited
- Strong visual storytelling instincts
- Excellent understanding of pacing and audience retention
- Experience with both short-form and long-form video
- Good judgment around music, sound design, B-roll, typography, and transitions
- Ability to take rough footage and independently turn it into something compelling
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable communication
- Ability to work remotely and manage deadlines
- Ability to take feedback and improve quickly
You should be comfortable using at least one of:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- DaVinci Resolve
- Final Cut Pro
- CapCut
The software matters less than the quality of your work.
Important
We are not looking for someone who simply adds captions, jump cuts, emojis, and trendy transitions to every video.
We want an editor with taste.
Someone who understands when an edit should feel cinematic, when it should feel raw, when to move quickly, when to slow down, and how to make the founder’s personality come through naturally.
The content should feel human, sharp, and authentic.
Not like generic corporate marketing.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with founders or personal brands
- Experience editing startup or technology content
- Strong YouTube editing experience
- Motion graphics skills
- Experience editing software or product demos
- Understanding of retention, hooks, thumbnails, and social media performance
- Experience turning one long recording into multiple pieces of content
Working Style
This is a fully remote role with the potential to become a long-term collaboration.
You’ll work closely with a small team and have room to contribute creatively rather than simply following editing instructions.
We care about:
Taste. Storytelling. Speed. Reliability.
How to Apply
Please include:
1. A short introduction about yourself
2. Your portfolio
3. 3 examples of videos you personally edited
4. Examples of both long-form and short-form work if available
5. The editing software you use
6. Your availability
7. Your expected monthly or project rate
Please also answer:
If we gave you 60 minutes of raw founder footage, how would you turn it into one compelling long-form video and 5 short-form clips?
Please do not send a generic application. We care much more about your taste and previous work than a long résumé.
