JOB OVERVIEW

We are hiring a highly organized, detail-oriented Human Resources Manager with excellent
English language skills (spoken & written) to support a fast-growing, multi-location franchise education
business in the U.S. The candidate must be available during US hours.

This is not a basic VA role — you will act as the operational backbone for HR, recruiting, payroll
coordination, onboarding, compliance, and related HR systems across multiple
locations.

Your job is to reduce chaos, streamline workflows, and ensure clean execution across
HR as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting
• Talent Pipeline Development
• Recruiting Platform Management
• Initial Candidate Screening

HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
• Manage onboarding for new hires
• Maintain employee records and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant
with California employment laws
• Support offboarding processes

Payroll Coordination (Paylocity)
• Prepare and coordinate payroll runs
• Handle off-cycle payroll adjustments, corrections, and updates
• Maintain employee data
• Work with U.S. payroll provider (Paylocity) to resolve issues

Systems & Benefits Administration
• Support Paylocity setup and ongoing maintenance (T&L, policies, configurations)
• Assist with benefits coordination
• Troubleshoot system issues and follow up persistently until resolved
• Help document and improve HR/payroll workflows

Compliance
• Assist with: Workers Comp audits & similar compliance items
• Maintain compliance tracking (deadlines, filings, documentation)
• Conduct basic research on HR/payroll/legal requirements as needed

Reporting & Process Improvement
• Maintain clean tracking sheets for: Payroll status, Onboarding progress, Compliance
items
• Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements
• Help build simple, scalable SOPs for all recurring tasks

Ideal Candidate Profile
• 5+ years experience working in Human Resources and/or Recruiting roles.
• Availability during US hours (ideally with prior experience working US hours)
• Excellent spoken and written English communication (clear, concise, professional)
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Experience working with U.S.-based businesses (required)
• Familiarity with: Payroll systems (Paylocity strongly preferred); HR processes
(onboarding, terminations, employee records); Google Suite (Google Sheets, Google
Docs)
• Able to work independently and drive tasks to completion without handholding

Time Tracking
• You will be asked to maintain a simple Google Sheet time tracker that tracks your time
spent by project
