JOB OVERVIEW

We are a California-based design-build and construction company seeking a highly experienced Architectural Designer to join our team full-time and long-term.

This is not an entry-level drafting position. We need someone who can independently prepare accurate, permit-ready residential construction documents for projects throughout California, especially the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities:

•⁠ ⁠Prepare complete architectural plan sets for residential projects
•⁠ ⁠Work on ADUs, additions, remodels, new homes and multi-unit projects
•⁠ ⁠Review existing plans, surveys and consultant drawings
•⁠ ⁠Coordinate architectural plans with structural, civil, MEP and Title 24 consultants
•⁠ ⁠Prepare plans for planning and building department submissions
•⁠ ⁠Respond to city plan-check comments and revise drawings correctly
•⁠ ⁠Review zoning requirements, setbacks, height limits, FAR and lot coverage
•⁠ ⁠Identify code or design conflicts before submission
•⁠ ⁠Communicate clearly with our project managers, designers and consultants
•⁠ ⁠Maintain organized project files and meet deadlines

Required Qualifications:

•⁠ ⁠Minimum 5 years of professional architectural design experience
•⁠ ⁠Proven experience preparing California residential permit sets
•⁠ ⁠Strong knowledge of the California Residential Code, California Building Code and local planning requirements
•⁠ ⁠Experience with Bay Area jurisdictions is strongly preferred
•⁠ ⁠Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
•⁠ ⁠Experience with Revit, SketchUp and 3D rendering is a major advantage
•⁠ ⁠Ability to read and coordinate architectural, structural, civil and MEP plans
•⁠ ⁠Strong written and spoken English
•⁠ ⁠Excellent attention to detail
•⁠ ⁠Reliable, organized and able to work independently
•⁠ ⁠Comfortable working during agreed hours that overlap with California business hours
