Type: Full-time contract, 40 hrs/week, timesheet-based
Schedule: 4 hours overlap with US Central
About the role
Harmony Marketing is hiring a Creative Production Editor to join our Creative Production department. This is not a "cut clips as assigned" job. You'll own video projects end to end — from raw footage landing in the drive, through organizing it against the content brief, to a finished edit that goes out the door.
You'll work directly with the head of Creative Production. As you prove yourself, this role grows into a senior position where you also review and revise work from other editors on the team, with pay increasing as your scope does.
What you'll be editing — watch these before you apply
Here are real examples of the work we produce:
We make social media ads and Reels. Vertical, short-form, fast. Almost none of our work is horizontal, and none of it is long-form corporate or wedding-style video.
The core of what we do is building a story out of b-roll — showcasing a product or service through tightly cut footage that holds attention from the first frame.
That means:
- 9:16 vertical, built for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and paid social placements
- Heavy stylized and kinetic text — animated captions, callouts, and on-screen copy that carries the message
- Punchy pacing, sound design, and cuts timed to music or VO
- Strong b-roll selection and sequencing. Finding the two seconds that sell the product out of ten minutes of footage is the skill we're hiring for
- Hook-first structure — the first 2 seconds d
If your reel is mostly 16:9 talking heads, event recaps, or documentary-style pieces with clean minimal text, this isn't the right fit and we'd rather you not apply. If the videos in that folder look like the work you already do — and want to do better — keep reading.
What you'll do
- Ingest, organize, and label raw footage against content briefs so every project has a clean, searchable starting point
- Edit finished vertical ads and Reels — hook, pacing, story, sound, color, kinetic text
- Build and apply motion graphics templates (MOGRTs) to keep our output consistent and fast
- Use AI-assisted editing tools (including Claude) to speed up our workflow — transcript-based rough cuts, automated organization, scripting repetitive tasks
- Help us build and document editing systems, not just complete individual edits
- As you grow: review and revise videos from other editors, give clear feedback, and hold quality standards across the department
What you must have
- 3+ years editing professionally, with a portfolio that shows vertical short-form social ads or Reels — not just repurposed horizontal work
- Strong command of at least one of: Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut — plus real After Effects ability
- Demonstrated skill with stylized/kinetic text and animated captions, not just default caption tracks
- Your own library of MOGRTs / motion graphics templates you can bring and build on
- A proven eye for b-roll — selecting, sequencing, and cutting product/service footage so it actually sells
- Comfort with AI editing tools, and genuine curiosity about making the process faster rather than defensiveness about it
- Ruthless organization. File naming, folder structure, and version control that another editor could pick up cold
- Reliable high-speed internet and a machine that can actually handle 4K timelines
- Strong written English — you'll be reading briefs and eventually writing revision notes
Nice to have
- Sound design and audio cleanup skills
- Color grading beyond basic correction
- Experience editing paid social ads specifically (and understanding what a hook and a CTA need to do)
- Experience giving feedback to or managing other editors
What we offer
- Full-time, long-term, stable work — not project-to-project
- $1,800–$2,200/month to start, with a clear path to more as you take on senior editing and revision responsibilities
- Real ownership of the systems we build, not just the tasks handed to you
- A team that invests in tools that make your work faster instead of asking you to grind
How to apply
Send us:
1. Your portfolio or reel — link to 3–5 pieces you personally edited. Must be vertical, highly engaging, short-form ads or Reels with stylized text.
2. A short note on the AI tools you currently use in your editing workflow and what they've actually saved you
3. A screenshot of how you organize a project folder on a real past project
Start your application with the word "MOGRT" so we know you read the whole posting. Applications without it won't be reviewed.
