JOB OVERVIEW

SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time.
Applicants must be comfortable working the corresponding overnight schedule in the Philippines and adjusting when U.S. daylight-saving time changes.

COMPENSATION
Negotiable based on relevant experience. Please provide your expected monthly compensation when applying.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced remote Legal Assistant to join a busy U.S. personal injury team consisting of an attorney, paralegal, and existing legal assistant.
The successful candidate will complement the current team’s strengths, particularly in insurance-related work, initial case development, and persistent client and third-party follow-up.
Florida personal injury experience is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with strong U.S. personal injury or insurance-claims experience are encouraged to apply.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with opening new personal injury matters and completing initial case-development activities
• Prepare and send letters of representation and other insurer correspondence
• Obtain, verify, and document insurance coverage information
• Assist with PIP, UM/UIM, bodily injury, and health-insurance matters
• Prepare or coordinate insurance disclosure requests
• Communicate by telephone and email with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and other parties
• Follow up persistently and professionally for missing information, records, and documentation
• Request, organize, and monitor medical records and billing documents
• Assist with health-insurance lien-related work
• Maintain accurate tasks, notes, deadlines, and matter information
• Recognize urgent or unusual situations and escalate them appropriately
• Coordinate closely with the assigned paralegal and existing legal assistant
• Help move tasks forward using the information already available rather than unnecessarily delaying work

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience supporting a U.S. personal injury practice or handling comparable insurance-claims work
• Practical understanding of personal injury insurance processes
• Strong spoken and written English
• Confidence communicating by phone with clients, insurers, and medical providers
• Professional persistence when requesting time-sensitive information
• Strong judgment regarding urgency, priorities, and escalation
• Excellent organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a remote legal team
• Reliable computer, internet connection, headset, quiet workspace, and backup arrangements
• Availability during the full U.S. Eastern Time schedule

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience supporting a Florida personal injury practice
• Familiarity with PIP, UM/UIM, bodily injury coverage, health insurance, and insurance disclosure requests
• Experience with letters of representation, coverage verification, medical records, billing, and liens
• Experience using Clio or a comparable legal case-management system
• Ability to work effectively with routine processes while recognizing matters that require a different approach
