JOB OVERVIEW

Senior Video Editor — Long-Form + Short-Form | High Output & Fast Turnaround

We are looking for an experienced, highly creative, FAST video editor to join our team for ongoing video production.

This is not an entry-level editing position.

We produce a high volume of video content and need an editor who can take raw footage and turn it into polished, engaging content quickly — without needing to be micromanaged on every cut, transition, sound effect, hook or creative decision.

You must be comfortable working with both:
* Long-form YouTube and podcast-style content
* Short-form Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts
* Talking-head videos
* Educational and marketing content
* Interviews and podcasts
* Promotional/social media content

What We Care About Most:

1. SPEED
We operate at a high production cadence.
You must be able to edit quickly while maintaining quality.
We do not want an editor who needs three days to produce something that a great editor can complete in several hours.

Turnaround time matters.
2. CREATIVE JUDGMENT
We don't want to tell you where to make every cut.

You should understand:
* Hooks
* Pacing
* Pattern interrupts
* B-roll
* Punch-ins
* Text and captions
* Music
* Sound effects
* Storytelling
* Retention editing
* Humor when appropriate
* When NOT to over-edit

You should be able to watch raw footage and immediately begin seeing opportunities to make the finished video better.
3. SHORT-FORM CONTENT

You must understand modern short-form editing.
We want someone who can take a longer piece of content and identify the moments that can become compelling standalone short-form videos.

That means understanding the idea and hook, not simply cutting a 60-second section from a long video.

4. RELIABILITY

We cannot have production stop because:

"My internet went down."
"The electricity went out."
"My computer crashed."

You must have reliable equipment and contingency plans.

Computer Requirements

We strongly prefer editors working on a MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon, although high-performance Windows editing workstations will also be considered.
Preferred specifications:
Mac
* MacBook Pro
* Apple Silicon M1 Pro or newer
* 316 GB RAM Min or more preferred
* SSD storage

Windows
* Modern Intel i7/i9 or AMD Ryzen 7/9
* 16 GB RAM min or more
* Dedicated GPU suitable for professional video editing
* SSD/NVMe storage

Your computer must comfortably handle professional HD and 4K editing without constantly relying on extremely slow renders.

Internet Requirements

You must have:
Primary high-speed internet
* Minimum target: 100 Mbps download
* Minimum target: 50 Mbps upload
AND
A separate backup internet connection.

Your backup can be:
* Secondary ISP
* 5G/LTE hotspot
* Dedicated mobile internet solution

"I can use my neighbor's Wi-Fi" is not considered backup internet.

Backup Power Is Required
You must have a legitimate backup power solution that allows you to continue working during a power outage.

Examples include:
* UPS
* Portable power station
* Generator
* Laptop + high-capacity power solution

Your backup should also keep your modem/router or backup internet system operating.

Software

You should be highly proficient with professional editing software such as:
* Adobe Premiere Pro
* DaVinci Resolve
* Final Cut Pro
* CapCut

Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, Audition and other creative tools is a major advantage.
AI-assisted editing tools and workflows are also a plus.

Send a photo of your UPS, power station, generator or other backup power system.
Tell us approximately how many hours you can continue working during a power outage.

7. Editing Software
Tell us which programs you use and rate your proficiency from 1–10 for each.

8. Editing Speed
Tell us approximately how long it would take you to edit:
* One 10-minute talking-head YouTube video
* One 60-minute podcast/interview
* Five 30–60 second short-form videos

Be realistic. You may be tested on this.

Finalists

Selected candidates will be asked to complete a paid editing test using the same raw footage.

We will evaluate:
Quality + Creativity + Speed + Ability to Follow Instructions
A beautiful edit delivered too slowly will not beat an excellent edit delivered quickly.
We're looking for someone who wants consistent work, can handle a serious production schedule, communicates well, takes ownership of their work and wants to become an important part of our content team.
