JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a YouTube Content Researcher & Sourcing Specialist to join our growing YouTube channel.

Your job will be to help us understand what is currently working on YouTube, find strong video opportunities, research topics, source relevant clips, and analyze the performance of our published videos.

You will work closely with our content and editing workflow and become an important part of building a repeatable content system.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who wants to grow with the channel.

Compensation

Starting compensation: $80/month

There is a clear opportunity to increase your monthly earnings to $200–$500+ per month as your responsibilities, performance, and contribution to the channel grow.

Raises and additional compensation will be based on factors such as:

Quality of research
Reliability and consistency
Quality of sourced clips
Ability to identify strong content opportunities
Accuracy of analytics and reporting
Initiative and problem-solving
Contribution to successful videos
Taking on additional responsibilities over time

We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us, rather than someone looking for a short-term gig.

What You'll Do
1. YouTube Research

You will regularly research YouTube to identify:

Videos that are currently performing well
Topics gaining traction
Successful formats and video structures
Strong hooks and storytelling approaches
Competitor channels
Recurring patterns among successful videos
New content opportunities

The goal isn't simply to find videos with high views.

You should be able to answer:

"Why is this working, and can we learn something from it?"

2. Video Idea Research

You will research potential video ideas and provide useful information that helps us d ---------- whether an idea is worth producing.

This may include:

Topic background
Important events/details
Relevant sources
Existing successful videos
Potential hooks
Interesting angles
Supporting clips
Potential problems or limitations
3. Clip Sourcing

You will find relevant footage and clips required for videos.

For every useful clip, you should properly organize:

Clip description
Source
URL
Timestamp when applicable
What part of the video the clip supports
Relevant notes
File location/status

The goal is to make the editor's job as easy as possible.

Instead of giving the editor:

"Find a clip of this."

You should provide:

"Here is the exact clip, source, timestamp, and context."

4. Channel Analytics

You will also help analyze our published videos.

You may review metrics such as:

Views
CTR
Audience retention
Average view duration
Engagement
Performance over time
Successful and unsuccessful topics
Thumbnail/title performance

You will look for patterns and turn the data into actionable insights.

For example:

"Videos covering X are consistently getting higher retention."

or:

"The first 30 seconds of these videos have a significantly stronger retention curve."

The objective is to continuously improve our content.

Our Workflow

You will be working within a structured content system:

Research → Video Idea → Approval → Deep Research → Clip Sourcing → Editing → Publishing → Analytics → Learnings → New Research

Every stage will be organized through Notion and our internal systems.

You won't be expected to figure everything out yourself.

We will provide:

SOPs
Step-by-step workflows
Notion templates
Examples of good research
Examples of properly sourced clips
Research standards
Analytics guidelines
Video workflow documentation
Training and feedback

As you become more experienced, you will be expected to work more independently.

What We Are Looking For

You don't need years of professional experience.

We care more about your ability to think, research, notice patterns, and consistently produce useful work.

You should:

Be comfortable using YouTube
Have strong research skills
Be able to find information quickly
Have good attention to detail
Understand basic YouTube analytics
Be organized
Communicate clearly
Be reliable and consistent
Be willing to learn
Be able to follow SOPs
Have good judgment when evaluating content
Strong candidates will also:
Understand what makes a video interesting
Naturally notice trends
Watch YouTube content regularly
Understand hooks and storytelling
Know how to find obscure/relevant footage
Think beyond surface-level metrics
Take initiative instead of waiting for instructions
Important

This position is not simply a copy-paste research job.

We want someone who can eventually become very good at answering:

"What should we make next, why should we make it, and what can we learn from what we've already published?"

Your responsibilities and compensation can increase as you demonstrate that ability.

Growth Opportunity

We want to build long-term relationships with the people who help build the channel.

Someone starting at $80/month could eventually take on responsibilities such as:

Content Researcher
↓
Senior Content Researcher
↓
Content Strategist / Research Lead
↓
Content Operations / Research Manager

As the channel grows and your contribution increases, your compensation and responsibilities can grow with it.

Who Should Apply?

You should apply if you're someone who:

Loves YouTube
Enjoys researching things
Likes discovering interesting content
Enjoys analyzing why videos succeed
Wants to learn how YouTube channels are built
Wants a long-term opportunity
Is willing to start small and grow with the team

You do not need to be an expert when you start.

What matters is that you're curious, reliable, hardworking, and willing to improve.

Application Process

Applicants may be asked to complete a short research task.

The task is designed to evaluate:

Research ability
Attention to detail
Ability to identify good content
Clip-finding ability
Understanding of YouTube
Quality of written communication

We care about the quality of your thinking, not just how much information you can collect.

Final Note
This is an opportunity to join a channel at an early stage and grow alongside it.

We are building systems, SOPs, workflows, and a team that can eventually operate at a much larger scale.

If you perform well, take ownership, and consistently contribute to successful content, there is significant room for your role and compensation to grow.

Starting compensation: $80/month
Potential compensation: $200–$500+/month with growth
Long-term opportunity: Yes
Send me a request on ---------- and we will put you on the board, bomberscales is the username you need to reply me with why should we choose you, failing will reject the application immediately.
