JOB OVERVIEW

I'm for an experienced Electrical Drafter to support an Australian electrical controls business on a flexible, job-by-job basis. The role involves creating accurate electrical documentation in AutoCAD, including schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and bills of materials.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Drafting & Documentation
• Produce electrical schematics and wiring diagrams in AutoCAD from briefs, mark-ups and reference designs
• Prepare single-line diagrams to relevant Australian standards and conventions
• Generate accurate bills of materials from completed drawings
• Revise and update drawings from red-line mark-ups and design changes
• Check drawings for accuracy, consistency and completeness before issue

CAD Standards, Templates & Style Guides
• Create and maintain AutoCAD templates, title blocks and drawing borders for the business
• Develop and document style guides covering layers, symbols, text and dimensioning conventions
• Build and manage symbol and block libraries for electrical components
• Keep drawing files clean, well structured and consistently named
• Recommend drafting workflow improvements as the engagement matures

Project Coordination & Delivery
• Scope each job from the brief, confirm requirements and flag ambiguities before starting
• Provide realistic time estimates per job and deliver to agreed turnaround times
• Coordinate progress, queries and reviews via WhatsApp and Google Meet
• Track and log hours accurately against each job
• Hand over completed drawing packages in the agreed formats
