Web Designer & Creative Projects Manager

Spiritus is an international Catholic sacred-music organization bringing together music, art, faith, ecology, and cultural heritage. Our projects involve musicians, artists, writers, churches, cathedrals, schools, cultural institutions, and environmental organizations around the world.

Spiritus is entering a major period of growth, with new performances, recordings, publications, international collaborations, ecological initiatives, and a major new digital presence now in development.

We are looking for an exceptionally talented Web Designer & Creative Projects Manager to join our team in the Philippines.

This is an unusual role combining web design and building, visual design, creative project management, publications, research, and creative production.

We are looking first and foremost for someone with outstanding visual taste who can design and build beautiful websites. But this is not simply a website-development position. The right person will become deeply involved in the creative work of Spiritus and have the opportunity to gradually take ownership of major projects.

What You’ll Work On
One of your most important responsibilities will be helping us build and continually develop a new Spiritus website and digital library.

The site will eventually bring together a large and growing collection of music, recordings, musical scores, photography, video, artwork, essays, spiritual reflections, educational materials, and other content.

We want it to have the visual sophistication of a major museum, gallery, arts organization, or cultural institution—beautiful, elegant, immersive, and exceptionally easy to explore.

You will:

Design and build sophisticated web pages and visual experiences

Develop beautiful ways of presenting music, recordings, scores, photography, video, artwork, and writing

Create a coherent visual language across the website

Organize and present a large and growing digital library of creative materials

Ensure excellent presentation across desktop and mobile

Continually expand and improve the website as new material is created

Coordinate with specialist developers when advanced technical work is required

We are primarily looking for someone with a designer’s eye who can actually build what they design.

Publications & Creative Projects
You will also help manage major publications and other creative projects.

One of your first projects will be helping manage the production of a beautiful approximately 200-page commemorative art book documenting a sacred-music recording project in France.

The book will combine extensive photography, essays and spiritual reflections, musical analysis, texts and translations, captions, credits, and other materials. We intend it to have the quality and visual sophistication of a book published by a major museum, gallery, or cultural institution.

Working with a specialist book designer and other members of our team, you will help organize hundreds of photographs and other assets, coordinate material from writers and contributors, track what has been received and what is still missing, manage revisions, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

You will also assist with CDs and CD booklets, photography and video projects, digital and print publications, research and outreach, recruitment of specialized creative professionals, and other Spiritus projects as the organization grows.

Who We’re Looking For
Above all, we are looking for someone with exceptional visual judgment, strong web-design and web-building ability, and the organizational skills to take ownership of complex creative projects.

You should have:

Exceptional visual taste and design judgment

A strong portfolio of websites you have personally designed

The ability to actually build websites, not simply produce mockups for others to implement

Strong experience with WordPress, Webflow, or comparable modern web platforms

Excellent understanding of typography, layout, imagery, spacing, and visual hierarchy

Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational ability

Excellent written English

Strong communication, follow-through, and reliability

The initiative to identify and solve problems independently rather than simply waiting for instructions

Experience with museums, cultural institutions, music, photography, visual arts, books, architecture, sacred art, or international creative projects is especially welcome.
