WHO WE ARE
MattPake is a small software company from Prague. We build custom software,
process automation, AI agents and chatbots, and CRM and helpdesk integrations
for small and mid-sized businesses.
We're good at building things. We're much less good at consistently finding the
companies who need them. That's the gap.
WHAT THE ROLE IS
This is an outreach job with research attached, not a research job with outreach
attached. I want to be blunt about that up front, because I hired for this once
already and learned the difference the hard way.
You would:
- Build and verify prospect lists — the right companies, the right decision
makers, contact details that are actually correct.
- Run cold
lines and angles, monitoring deliverability.
- Do LinkedIn outreach alongside it.
- Work with Claude as part of the daily process — not to write your
you, but to research companies faster, score them against an ICP, and find a
specific angle for each one.
- Bring ideas. If you think there's a better market, channel or angle, I want to
hear it. I'd rather argue with you about strategy than assign you tasks.
I run the sales calls. Your job is to get people onto them.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
Some of this is genuinely required, so please don't apply if it isn't true:
- You have run cold
platform. Instantly, Lemlist, Smartlead, Apollo sequences — name yours.
- You understand deliverability. Sending domains, warm-up, bounce rates, why you
never send cold
- You use AI daily and can tell the difference between using it to think faster
and using it to produce things you can't evaluate.
- Good written English. You'll be writing things that represent my company.
A note on languages: part of our market is Czech and Slovak. You do NOT need to
speak those. Claude handles translation for research, and I write and send the
final Czech and Slovak messages myself. Everything you write goes out in English.
COMPENSATION
$4-5/hour depending on experience, hours negotiable from 20 to 40 a week. On top
of that, commission closed deals.
I'll be straight about the money rather than let you guess. I'm a small company
and that rate is what I can carry while we prove the channel works. If you bring
in leads that turn into clients, you earn significantly more than the base, and
I have every reason to raise it — I'd rather write a date and a number into the
agreement than say "we'll see".
I'll also say plainly: this role will change. What we target, which channels we
use, what a good lead means — all of it gets rewritten as we learn. If you need
a fixed job description, this isn't it.
HOW TO APPLY
Please don't send a generic cover letter — I'll be able to tell, and it won't get
a reply.
Write to me like a person and answer these:
1. Who you are and what you actually do day to day right now.
2. Which sequencing tool have you used, and what reply rates did you see? If you
don't have accurate numbers, say so — I'd far rather have "I don't remember
exactly" than a figure you made up. I check.
3. How you use AI in your work today. Be specific: which tools, for what.
4. Walk me through the last cold campaign you ran that didn't work. What was
wrong and what did you do about it?
5. Look at what we do. Name ONE type of company you'd go after first, why, and
how you'd find them.
6. If I asked for 10 booked calls in the first month, what would you tell me?
There's no right answer to number 6. I just want to see how you think.
