About the Role
We are an established pet supplies e-commerce company looking for a hands-on E-Commerce Operations Manager to own and grow our Shopify store.
This is not primarily a delegation or team-coordination role. You will personally manage the day-to-day store, analyze performance, improve conversion, create campaigns and content, handle customer inquiries, maintain inventory accuracy, and continuously look for ways to increase revenue and profitability.
You will report to the General Manager and work with a small remote team, including a Graphic Designer and external marketing partners.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Shopify & E-Commerce Growth
* Own the day-to-day management of our Shopify store.
* Manage products, collections, merchandising, pricing, inventory, promotions, apps, and website content.
* Monitor and improve revenue, conversion rate, AOV, engagement, and other key e-commerce metrics.
* Identify CRO opportunities and improve product pages, navigation, landing pages, offers, and onsite messaging.
* Recommend promotions and other initiatives to grow profitable sales.
* Proactively identify and fix website issues rather than waiting for them to be assigned.
2. Email, Content & SEO
* Plan, write, build, and schedule email/newsletter campaigns.
* Write and improve product descriptions, landing pages, collection copy, and promotional content.
* Perform keyword research and on-page SEO.
* Create, refresh, and fact-check AI-assisted blog content.
* Develop enough product knowledge to create accurate content and confidently research information when needed.
3. Analytics & Reporting
* Analyze Shopify and GA4 performance and explain why results are changing.
* Maintain a weekly e-commerce performance scorecard.
* To confirm that you read the entire listing, include your favorite cartoon cat in the first sentence of your cover letter.
* Prepare basic profitability reports covering revenue, COGS, shipping, ad spend, discounts, and other major expenses.
* Understand Google Ads reporting well enough to evaluate paid traffic and collaborate with our advertising agency.
* Turn data into specific recommendations and actions.
4. Customer Service & Operations
* Personally handle our relatively low volume of customer inquiries.
* Process orders with dropshipping suppliers according to existing SOPs.
* Ensure orders are sent accurately and on time.
* Maintain accurate inventory availability and pricing.
* Follow through on issues until they are actually resolved.
This Is a Hands-On Role
Although this is a manager-level position, we are a small company and expect this person to be comfortable doing the work, not simply delegating it.
If a newsletter needs to be built, you should be able to build it. If an image needs a simple resize, you should be able to resize it. If product copy needs improvement, you should be able to rewrite it. If an app isn't working, you should investigate the problem and look for a solution or workaround. Routine execution is part of this role.
What We're Looking For:
* 5+ years of relevant e-commerce experience preferred, with meaningful hands-on Shopify experience.
* Demonstrated experience improving e-commerce sales or conversion - not just maintaining a website.
* Strong understanding of Shopify, CRO, merchandising, and e-commerce best practices.
* Experience with GA4 and e-commerce reporting.
* Experience with Klaviyo or similar email marketing platforms.
* Working knowledge of Google Merchant Center and Google Ads reporting.
* Experience with SEO and tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, or similar.
* Strong copywriting and editing skills.
* Comfortable calculating basic store profitability.
* Basic Liquid/HTML/CSS knowledge is a plus, but development expertise is not required.
* Excellent written and spoken English.
We want someone who is proactive, analytical, resourceful, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and highly accountable.
We value people who find solutions rather than simply report blockers. We also expect honesty and ownership when something goes wrong. Mistakes can happen; concealing or misrepresenting them is unacceptable.
How Success Will Be Measured:
You will have meaningful ownership of Shopify performance, including:
* Revenue growth
* Conversion rate
* AOV and website engagement
* Email/promotional performance
* Inventory and order accuracy
* Profitability and reporting
* Successful execution of CRO and website improvements
You will participate in a weekly e-commerce meeting and should be able to explain what happened, why it happened, what you're doing about it, and what you recommend next.
Work Arrangement & Benefits:
* Full-time, 40+ hours/week on a fixed U.S. Eastern Time schedule.
* Remote position for candidates based in the Philippines.
* Exclusive professional commitment required; side jobs/freelancing are not permitted.
* Productivity tracking with periodic screenshots is required.
* Performance-based bonuses and 13th-month pay.
* Unlimited PTO upon regularization.
How to Apply:
Please send your resume and a short cover letter.
In your cover letter, briefly describe one specific improvement you personally made to a Shopify/e-commerce store that produced a measurable result. Tell us the problem, what you personally did, and the result.
Selected candidates will go through an interview, a short practical exercise, and professional reference checks.
