JOB OVERVIEW

Company: Narratives by Nazar
Position: Part-Time (Remote)
Location: Philippines (required)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Start Date: ASAP

Narratives by Nazar is a fast-growing digital marketing agency specializing in helping service-based businesses dominate their local markets. We specialize in elevating women-focused service businesses, especially in the aesthetics, wellness, beauty, and lifestyle space. Our mission is to help conscious, service-driven brands grow with integrity, clarity, and confidence.

We’re looking for an experienced Local SEO Strategist who can take ownership of client SEO performance from strategy through execution and optimization. This is not a task-based SEO assistant role, and we are not looking for someone who needs a detailed checklist for every step. We want someone who can look at a client’s business, market, website, Google Business Profile, competitors, and performance data and determine:
- What should we prioritize?
- What is holding this client back?
- Where is the biggest opportunity?
- What should we test or change?
- What work should be assigned to the content writer or developer?
- Is our current strategy actually producing results?

You should be comfortable owning the SEO roadmap, making recommendations, setting priorities, coordinating implementation, and adjusting strategy based on results. You will be responsible for running campaigns from the ground up, with support from our content writer and developer.

We believe in:
- Transparency over tactics
- Long-term relationships over short-term hacks
- Human-centered strategy guided by data and intent
- Empowering women-owned businesses to scale sustainably
- Creativity supported by systems so clients can grow without chaos

We work closely with founders, providers, and local service business owners who value authenticity as much as results. Your work directly impacts real people building real livelihoods, not faceless enterprises.

Who We’re Looking For:
- An experienced Local SEO specialist with a strong portfolio of measurable results at an agency (you will need to provide examples of past work)
- Someone who understands ranking local service providers (not eCommerce, not national SEO) for Google SERPs and Maps, including off-page SEO tactics
- A system-driven thinker who enjoys optimizing processes
- A problem solver who takes ownership of outcomes
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Eager to grow with a mission-driven, values-led creative agency

Core Responsibilities:
As a Local SEO Strategist & Implementor, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. OWN LOCAL SEO STRATEGY
You will be responsible for developing and continuously improving the Local SEO strategy for assigned clients.

This includes:
- Evaluating each client’s current Local SEO position, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities
- Developing tailored Local SEO strategies primarily for service-based businesses, with occasional e-commerce clients
- Conducting keyword, SERP, market, and competitor research
- Identifying the highest-impact opportunities and setting priorities
- Building SEO roadmaps rather than waiting for individual tasks to be assigned
- Conducting website and Google Business Profile audits
- Determining what content, technical improvements, GBP optimizations, citations, links, or other initiatives are needed
- Reviewing existing strategies and challenging them when the data suggests a better direction
- Regularly bringing forward new opportunities, concerns, and recommendations

You should be able to take a client account and confidently determine what needs to happen next without being micromanaged.

2. DRIVE GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE & LOCAL VISIBILITY STRATEGY
You will own the strategy behind improving each client’s local search and Google Maps visibility.

Responsibilities may include:
- Evaluating and optimizing Google Business Profiles
- Developing recommendations around categories, services, descriptions, photos, posts, attributes, and other GBP features
- Identifying opportunities to improve Maps visibility
- Managing citation strategy, setup, and cleanup using BrightLocal or similar tools
- Conducting NAP audits and identifying inconsistencies
- Determining which citation opportunities are worth pursuing
- Tracking local visibility and identifying patterns in ranking performance
- Developing recommendations based on GBP insights and local ranking data
- Overseeing weekly GBP posting through BrightLocal

Please include BLUE SKY in your application headline so we know you reviewed the full job post.

3. LEAD ON-PAGE SEO DIRECTION
You will identify what needs to change on client websites to improve local organic performance.

Responsibilities include:
- Developing on-page SEO recommendations for service and location pages
- Creating or reviewing title tags, headings, metadata, internal linking, and content structure
- Identifying content gaps and opportunities
- Creating recommendations for new service pages, location pages, supporting content, or other assets when necessary
- Reviewing SEO content produced by our content team
- Providing the writer with clear briefs, keyword targets, search intent, page goals, and strategic direction
- Reviewing completed content to ensure it supports the broader SEO strategy
- Writing or overseeing schema markup such as JSON-LD where appropriate

You do not need to personally write every piece of content. Your responsibility is to make sure the right content is being created for the right strategic reason.

4. IDENTIFY & OVERSEE TECHNICAL SEO IMPROVEMENTS
This role does not require you to be a developer, but you should understand enough technical SEO to identify problems and direct our developer effectively.

Responsibilities include:
- Identifying crawlability, indexing, architecture, internal linking, and page experience issues
- Spotting technical problems that may be limiting organic performance
- Prioritizing technical fixes based on SEO impact
- Providing clear implementation instructions to our WordPress developer
- Reviewing completed fixes to ensure they were implemented correctly
- Following up when technical issues remain unresolved

You should be able to translate an SEO problem into a clear recommendation the developer can execute.

5. OWN PERFORMANCE & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
We do not want someone who implements an SEO plan and then simply watches rankings.

You will be expected to actively evaluate whether the strategy is working.

Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring keyword rankings, traffic, leads, conversions, GBP performance, and local visibility
- Reviewing Search Console, Analytics, GBP, and ranking data for meaningful trends
- Identifying what is working and what is not
- Investigating unexpected ranking or traffic changes
- Adjusting priorities based on performance
- Developing hypotheses and recommendations when campaigns stall
- Preparing concise monthly performance reports
- Clearly communicating wins, challenges, next steps, and strategic recommendations
- Proactively identifying opportunities that were not part of the original roadmap

We expect you to think beyond the report and tell us what the data means and what we should do because of it.
