Night Shift Operations Coordinator
Vo Rental ("Vo Place Like Home") — Anaheim, CA
ABOUT US
Vo Rental owns and manages a portfolio of roughly 50 short-term rental and residential properties. The core of the business is in Orange County — Anaheim, Garden Grove, Westminster, Santa Ana, Midway City — with additional homes in Las Vegas, Panama City and Panama City Beach, FL, and Kissimmee, FL. We run a cleaning team of about 19 people and turn over homes every single day of the year.
Our day shift gets the houses cleaned. Our night shift gets the guests in the door and sets up tomorrow. This is the second half of that.
THE ROLE
You take the handoff from the day shift at 4 PM — right as guests start arriving — and you carry the business through the evening. You get every arriving guest into their home, you build and send out tomorrow's cleaning schedule, and you catch the late bookings that land after everyone else has signed off. When you finish your shift, tomorrow is already set up.
SCHEDULE AND PAY
Hours: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time, US West Coast)
Days: Monday through Saturday. Sundays off.
Pay: $1,000 per month
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Guest arrivals
Guests check in from 4 PM onward. Make sure every one of them gets into their home: door codes, gate codes, parking, wifi, directions
Handle arrival problems fast — a code that isn't working, a house that isn't ready yet, a guest arriving at midnight
Answer messages on Airbnb,
Approve or decline early check-in and late checkout requests
Tomorrow's cleaning schedule
Build the next day's cleaning assignments across a team of about 19 cleaners and balance the load fairly
Send each cleaner her schedule for tomorrow, along with any special instructions — guest counts, supplies to leave, promised early check-in times, long stays
Confirm every checkout tomorrow has a cleaner on it
Late bookings
Reservations come in all evening. When one lands for tomorrow or the same day, make sure a cleaner is assigned and actually told
Update the calendars so the morning shift starts from an accurate picture
Claims and documentation
Work through the damage reports and photo documentation queued up during the day
Organize photos, timestamps, and receipts into the supporting file
Keep the claims tracker current
Records and handoff
Log the day's cleaner assignments and any changes
Maintain calendars, task lists, and property records
Leave a clean handoff for the morning: what happened, what's outstanding, what to watch
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
Fluent written and spoken English
Genuinely reliable with time. Guests arrive on a schedule and cleaners need tomorrow's assignments tonight — neither can wait.
Strong written communication — clear, short, warm messages to guests and to staff.
Calm under pressure. Most of what goes wrong in this business goes wrong in the evening, and you'll often be the only one on.
Comfortable working independently without being checked on.
Working knowledge of Google Calendar, Google Sheets or Excel, WhatsApp, and a shared task manager. You should be able to learn a property management system quickly.
Discretion. You will see guest information, addresses, access codes, and payment records.
Nice to have
Spanish. Much of our cleaning team communicates in Spanish, so it helps every day.
Prior short-term rental, property management, hospitality, or dispatch experience
Familiarity with Airbnb and
Experience coordinating field staff or contractors
Not required
A college degree
Prior experience with our specific software
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
First 30 days: You know the properties by name and can get any arriving guest into any house without help. You can build tomorrow's schedule with review.
First 60 days: The schedule goes out on time every night, correct, without anyone checking it. Guests get answers within minutes.
First 90 days: Nothing reaches the morning as a surprise. Late bookings are handled, cleaners know before they ask, and the handoff tells the day shift exactly what it needs.
TO APPLY
You must include a Loom video or a YouTube clip with your application. I will not entertain any proposal or applicant that does not include one.
In your video, introduce yourself and tell us about a time something went wrong late in the day and you had to solve it on your own — what happened, what you did, and how it turned out. Also confirm that you can work 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM PST, Monday through Saturday.
You must spend at least 10 AP on this application, or it will not be reviewed.
