JOB OVERVIEW

Position Overview
Gordon Sinclair is seeking an experienced and motivated Application Software Developer to join our Information Technology team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, integrating, and supporting enterprise applications with a primary focus on Oracle NetSuite ERP in a manufacturing and distribution environment.
The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of professional software development experience, with strong expertise in NetSuite development, ERP integrations, and API development. This individual will work closely with business leaders across Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Distribution, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service to develop scalable software solutions that improve operational efficiency, automate business processes, and support the company's continued growth.
Experience with Shopify and eCommerce platforms is desirable but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Oracle NetSuite Development
● Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Oracle NetSuite customizations using SuiteScript 2.x.
● Develop Suitelets, RESTlets, User Event Scripts, Client Scripts, Scheduled Scripts, Workflow Action Scripts, and Map/Reduce Scripts.
● Create and maintain SuiteFlow workflows to automate business processes.
● Develop custom records, forms, fields, dashboards, KPIs, reports, and saved searches.
● Support NetSuite administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
● Collaborate with business users to identify opportunities for process automation and system improvements.
API Development & System Integrations
● Design, develop, and maintain REST and SOAP APIs between NetSuite and third-party applications.
● Build secure, scalable integrations with manufacturing systems, shipping platforms, CRM solutions, customer portals, and other enterprise applications.
● Develop middleware and automated data synchronization processes.
● Support API authentication methods including OAuth and Token-Based Authentication (TBA).
● Troubleshoot and optimize existing integrations for reliability and performance.
● Participate in integration architecture planning and solution design.
Manufacturing & Distribution Solutions
Develop software solutions that support business operations across manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, procurement, inventory management, warehouse operations, production scheduling, work orders, shipping & receiving, order management, demand planning, logistics, and quality management. Work closely with operational leaders to understand business requirements and implement technology solutions that improve productivity, visibility, and operational efficiency.
Software Development
● Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise software applications.
● Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following development standards and best practices.
● Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
● Perform application testing, debugging, and production support.
● Document technical specifications, architecture, and support procedures.
● Support software releases and deployment activities.
Continuous Improvement
● Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes through automation.
● Recommend new technologies and development practices.
● Participate in ongoing ERP optimization initiatives.
● Contribute to application architecture and long-term technology strategy.
Required Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
● 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
● 3+ years of Oracle NetSuite development experience.
● Strong knowledge of: SuiteScript 2.x, SuiteFlow, SuiteTalk, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, Token-Based Authentication (TBA), Saved Searches, Custom Records, and Workflows.
● Experience developing RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations.
● Strong JavaScript development experience.
● Experience with SQL and relational databases.
● Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
● Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable.
