JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, cash flow, and financial controls.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and detail-oriented finance leader who can work closely with executives, manage financial operations, and provide insights that support investment and business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee GL, A/P, A/R, payroll, budgeting, and tax planning.
- Maintain strong financial controls, procedures, and accounting systems.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, financial analysis, and risk monitoring.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Support investment and profitability analysis.
- Coordinate audits and regulatory compliance.
- Manage relationships with banks, accountants, legal advisors, and other financial partners.
- Supervise and mentor accounting or finance staff.
- Provide financial insights and reporting to executives and investment partners.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive financial experience.
- Investment, private equity, or real estate experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, compliance, and risk management.
- Experience with investment accounting, cash flow modeling, and fund structures.
- Experience with Multifamily Real Estate accounting and AppFolio.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred
- CPA or MBA.
- Experience with fund administration, investor reporting, or capital calls.
- Real estate financial modeling experience.
- Experience scaling finance operations in a growing company.
