We are a busy chiropractic personal injury based practice seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Reports Writer / EHR Documentation Specialist to assist with preparing accurate, complete, and professional medical records and reports for personal injury cases.
This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with EHR systems, medical terminology, and legal documentation requests. The primary responsibility will be taking the provider's notes and supporting documentation and turning them into organized, accurate records that are complete and ready to be provided to the requesting law office.
Key Responsibilities
Review provider notes for completeness, organization, and consistency
Compile treatment notes, evaluations, progress notes, and other relevant medical documentation
Prepare and organize medical reports and records for personal injury cases
Ensure documentation accurately reflects the patient's treatment, complaints, findings, and progress based on the source records
Organize records chronologically and ensure documentation is complete before release
Prepare medical records and reports so they are professional, organized, and ready to be sent to attorneys/law offices
Identify missing documentation, incomplete notes, or inconsistencies and bring them to the appropriate provider/staff member for review
Handle sensitive patient and legal information with strict confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
Assist with medical record requests and other documentation-related administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
Chiropractic office background with Chirotouch EHR
Strong written English, grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to accurately interpret and type from handwritten medical notes
Comfortable working with EHR/EMR systems and electronic medical records
Familiarity with medical terminology
Ability to manage multiple patient files and deadlines
Strong computer and typing skills
Ability to work independently while communicating questions or discrepancies promptly
Professional handling of confidential medical and legal information
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
Chirotouch EHR background
Personal injury medical practice
Chiropractic documentation experience
Medical records or medical documentation
Medical report writing
Medical scribing
Chiropractic, orthopedic, pain management, physical therapy, or similar clinical settings
Working with personal injury attorneys or law offices
EHR/EMR data entry and records management
