JOB OVERVIEW

Hi, I'm part of a media company, looking for a couple of different roles to be filled. We are based in the UK and we are looking for a video editor that can grow with us. The role will start off with part time and will grow to more hours and pay as the company grows.

You are going to be editing using video captured by my company for our clients, as well as editing videos for our company to use on our social media.

There will be a mix of reels for instagram and instagram stories to be created, as well as longer form videos in landscape rather than portrait. Such as a "postcards" series as a carousel on instagram, or a talking head video to go onto a website.

You will be able to create videos that use slow motion, speed ramping, effects, sound design and sometimes colour grading from LOG.

You will understand a cinematic edit when needed as well as a modern edit, using colour grading and slow motion.

Video edits will range from hospitality, industrial, drone, to talking head videos, so you will have a diverse portfolio of editing already and will be able to create high impact edits for us to deliver to our clients.

The tools you use to edit will be at your own discretion, but you will know how to use either Da Vinci Resolve or premier pro, and you will be used to working with LOG footage.

If you want to use CapCut or Canva to create reels for when we need a quick and basic edit, this is okay as long as the quality is good. Sometimes we might need a larger number of simple reels to be delivered from a job instead of a few high quality, and this will be in the guide for the edits.

You will be able to come up with ideas yourself from footage, although a list of expected edits will be sent to you from the person who has filmed the job.

For example, you might be linked to a folder of video clips and this might include a list such as
"we would like five reels to be edited, one to showcase the atmosphere, one to showcase the drinks and three talking heads using the audio and footage to advertise the company, with b roll of the drinks and environment".

This is an example of the guidance you might be given to create the videos from a WeTransfer or Dropbox folder of footage, and it will be up to you to pull together the best clips to showcase what has been asked for.

Lastly you will be able to come up with and create social media posts from the images (images are already edited by us) provided in a folder.

This might include a carousel with images and text, showcasing the name of the place or the dish in the photo, the lighting or the photography setup used (this will be provided to you)
The carousels will be eye catching and you will also be able to edit carousels that mix both images and video into one post with overlaying. These will be for both our own company and our clients.
