Finance & Data Manager (Management Team)
About the Role
We're looking for a senior Finance & Data Manager to take full ownership of our company's finances and join the management team. You'll build our administration system from the ground up, guide the entire team into a structured daily flow for delivering financial data, and turn that data into reliable reporting that management can steer on.
You'll be the guardian of the company's treasury. You'll have a real voice in strategic decisions: you'll flag when a decision isn't financially viable, and you'll steer the company toward sound financial choices. You'll also own payroll for the entire team.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll design the system, run it every day, and keep improving it.
Key Responsibilities
Building the administration system
Design and implement the company's full financial administration structure, including chart of accounts, bookkeeping processes, tooling, and data architecture.
Set up clear workflows, templates, and deadlines so every team (Operations, CS, Sales, Management) can deliver financial data easily and consistently.
Train and guide team members on these workflows, and hold them accountable for complete and timely input.
Establish tracking systems and internal controls that minimize errors, fraud risk, and revenue leakage.
Daily control and sign-off
Review, validate, and sign off on all financial data submitted by the team each day.
Track and reconcile all revenue, payments, top-ups, fees, refunds, deductions, and outstanding balances across clients, accounts, services, and projects.
Investigate missing, duplicated, or inconsistent data and make sure it gets corrected quickly.
Reconcile bank accounts, payment providers, and internal records.
Reporting and insights
Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports: P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, and revenue/margin reports.
Compare actual results against budget and expected revenue, and explain any deviations.
Build and maintain dashboards for revenue, costs, margins, client activity, and overall business performance.
Give management clear, actionable insights, trends, and recommendations.
Meet every reporting deadline.
Treasury and financial steering
Manage the company's cash position, liquidity, and payment schedules.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow projections.
Assess the financial impact of proposed decisions, investments, and hires, and challenge or block decisions that are not financially responsible.
Manage relationships with banks, payment providers, the external accountant, and tax advisors.
Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and statutory reporting obligations, and prepare for audits.
Payroll
Run monthly payroll for the entire team accurately and on time.
Manage employee contracts' financial side, including salaries, bonuses, expenses, and payroll taxes, in line with local regulations.
Keep payroll records confidential and up to date.
Management team
Take part in management meetings as the financial voice of the company.
Contribute to strategy, pricing, and growth decisions with a financial perspective.
Keep improving financial processes, tooling, and reporting as the company scales.
What We're Looking For
7+ years of experience in finance, for example as a Controller, Finance Manager, or Head of Finance, preferably in a fast-growing or high-transaction-volume business.
Proven experience building a finance function or administration system from scratch.
Strong command of bookkeeping, reconciliation, P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet reporting.
Hands-on payroll experience and knowledge of local payroll, tax, and VAT regulations.
Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills, plus experience with accounting software and BI/dashboard tools.
A data-driven mindset: you're comfortable with large datasets, spotting anomalies, and automating processes.
The confidence and integrity to say "no" to management when the numbers don't add up.
Strong communication skills, and the ability to get non-finance colleagues to follow a process.
Highly organized, precise, and reliable under daily deadlines.
A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar (RA/RC or equivalent qualification is a plus).
