We are a $600K/month DTC oral health supplement brand running direct response video ads on Meta to women 50+ in the United States. We are hiring a full-time Performance Video Editor who can bring scripts to life, not just cut them together.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS:
You are not editing vlogs, YouTube videos, or social media content. You are editing direct response video ads that run on cold traffic at real ad spend. Every frame, every transition, every piece of b-roll, every voiceover cut exists for one reason: to keep a skeptical 55-year-old woman watching long enough to click. If the ad doesn't perform, it gets killed. The edit is the difference between an ad that scales and an ad that dies in testing.
If you have only edited brand content, social media reels, or YouTube videos, this role is not for you. We need someone who has edited ads that ran on cold traffic for e-commerce or supplement brands and understands why some ads convert and others don't.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
You will receive scripts and turn them into finished, launch-ready video ads for Meta. But you are not just following instructions. You are making creative decisions on every ad:
Choosing and generating the right b-roll for every section of the script. Not just "find a clip that matches the words." You are d
Pacing the hook so the first 3 seconds stop the scroll. You understand that the hook isn't just the first line of the script. It's the first visual, the first sound, the first text on screen, and the speed at which all three hit at the same time.
Matching voiceover tone to the script's intent. A fear-based ad sounds different than a discovery ad. A doctor ad sounds different than a personal story. You know the difference and you cast the voice accordingly.
Selecting music that supports the emotion without competing with the voiceover. Subtle, intentional, never generic.
Designing caption styles and on-screen text that feel native to the platform, not like a corporate presentation.
Building transitions that move the viewer through the ad without them noticing. No flashy effects for the sake of effects. Every cut serves the story.
You are bringing an ad to life through visual creative decisions. Not just editing. Performing.
AI IS NOT OPTIONAL:
We use AI tools heavily and daily. This is not a traditional editing role where you sit in Premiere for 8 hours cutting footage someone else shot. You are generating AI UGC, AI voiceovers, AI b-roll, AI animations, and combining them with real footage to create ads that look and feel authentic.
The tools we use include:
Higgsfield for AI video generation, character animation, and b-roll creation
ElevenLabs for AI voiceovers and voice cloning
Runway for motion and visual generation
CapCut or Premiere for editing
Canva for thumbnails and static elements
If you are not already using AI tools like these in your daily editing workflow, this role is not for you. We are not looking for someone who is "willing to learn AI." We need someone who already generates AI assets as part of how they edit. This is what separates a performance editor from a traditional editor.
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER EDITING JOBS:
Most editing jobs hand you footage and say "make it look good." This role hands you a script and says "make it convert." The difference is that you are thinking about performance at every step:
Why does this hook need to hit in under 2 seconds?
Why does the b-roll need to shift at the mechanism section?
Why does the pacing need to slow down when the product is introduced?
Why does the CTA need urgency without feeling desperate?
If you already think like this when you edit, you will thrive here. If you have never thought about why an ad performs, only about whether it looks clean, this is not the right fit.
THE GROWTH PATH:
You start as an editor. You receive scripts, you make creative decisions on visuals and pacing, and you deliver finished ads. The founder writes the scripts and provides direction.
Over time, as you learn the brand, the audience, and the mechanism, you will grow into a full creative strategist. That means:
Coming up with your own ad concepts and angles
Writing your own short scripts (20-45 seconds)
Editing and delivering the complete ad independently
The goal is for you to eventually own the full creative pipeline for video ads: concept, script, edit, deliver. One person, full production. This is a long-term role with real growth, not a short-term gig.
WHAT YOU MUST ALREADY HAVE:
Direct response video editing experience. You have edited ads that ran on cold traffic for e-commerce, DTC, or supplement brands. Not brand content. Not social media reels. Ads that had to convert.
AI-native workflow. You already use Higgsfield, ElevenLabs, Runway, or equivalent tools daily. AI UGC, AI voiceovers, AI b-roll generation are part of how you work, not something you've tried once.
Hook psychology. You understand what makes the first 3 seconds of an ad stop the scroll. You can explain why specific hooks work, not just edit them.
Performance awareness. You know what hook rate, hold rate, CTR, and ROAS mean. You understand that editing decisions directly impact ad performance. If an ad underperforms, you can look at the metrics and identify what needs to change in the edit.
Health or supplement niche experience preferred. You have edited ads for products targeting an older demographic (40-65+), health-conscious buyers, or supplement brands. You understand that this audience responds differently than a 25-year-old buying a gadget.
Strong creative instincts. If given only a script with minimal direction, you know exactly what b-roll to use, what voice to cast, how fast to pace it, and how to make the ad feel like content rather than a commercial.
