Sew Powerful is a U.S.-based Christian nonprofit fighting extreme poverty in Zambia. Our signature initiative, the Sew Powerful Purse Program, mobilizes volunteers worldwide to sew cross body purses as their method of participating, in support of our Zambian team of professional sexists and soap makers, that fill each purse with menstrual hygiene supplies for schoolgirls in Zambia — addressing a simple but critical barrier to education. . We also fund school feeding programs 11,500+ children served daily) and women's vocational training.
We're looking for a full-time Marketing Manager to help our co-founders tell this story, grow our donor and volunteer community, and support our fundraising campaigns. This position could, upon successful completion of these duties, and proven success in the role, lead to a senior role in the organization.
About the Role
This is a generalist marketing role, not a single-channel specialist position. You'll work across several disciplines — social media,
You'll work closely with our (mostly volunteer) leadership team, most of whom are based in U.S. Pacific Time, so some live meeting overlap is expected even though this is a Philippines-based, PH-hours role.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media
Plan and maintain a content calendar across
Create and schedule posts that highlight campaigns, volunteer stories, and impact updates
Monitor engagement and respond to or flag comments/messages as needed
Email
Write and build donor and volunteer
Segment lists and support light donor communication workflows
Help plan and execute seasonal fundraising and awareness campaigns (e.g., Purse Project drives, year-end giving)
Web Copy & Content
Write and update website copy, blog posts, and landing pages
Support basic edits to our website (Shopify-based). (no Shopify skills required, we have a team member doing that work)
Draft impact stories and volunteer spotlights from source material provided by the team
Design & Print Collateral
Design social graphics,
Maintain brand consistency (colors, fonts, logo usage) across all materials
Prepare materials for volunteer groups, church partners, and event organizers to print and distribute locally
General
Track and report basic performance metrics
Collaborate with our volunteer leadership team and other contractors/VAs
Suggest new ideas to grow our reach and donor base
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on marketing experience, with proven work in at least 2–3 of: social media management,
Strong written English — this role is copy-heavy, and communications go directly to U.S. donors and supporters
Proficiency in Canva (required); experience with an
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple small projects at once
Reliable internet connection and a backup power/internet plan
Available for occasional live meetings during U.S. Pacific Time business hours
Nice to Have
Experience with a nonprofit, mission-driven, or faith-based organization
Basic Shopify or website CMS experience
Experience with donor databases
Basic photo/video editing skills, (Lightroom, etc.)
Experience with Meta Business Suite or a social scheduling and ad tools
Work Schedule & Compensation
Employment type: Full-time (40 hrs/week and 13th month benefit
Schedule: 7am Philippines start time -, so a daily zoom meeting can occur with our west coast (Pacific time zone) team. Then occasional meetings during U.S. business hours. We'll try our best to be sensitive to work-life, but do need the opportunity for zoom meetings, which we'll always try to keep late in the day (Pacific time).
