Sourcing Specialist (Remote – Philippines-Based Contractor)
Location: Remote (Philippines) — Independent Contractor
Reports to: Director of Sourcing and Procurement
Schedule: Full-time Contractor is required to work at least 4 overlapping hours as the same hours as the Tucson office — Monday–Friday, [8:00 AM–5:00 PM Arizona Time (MST, no DST)] — which corresponds to approximately 11:00 PM–8:00 AM Philippine Time. This overlap is required to support direct collaboration, shadowing, and real-time training with the Tucson team during onboarding.
About the Role
SE Supplies is a US based fast-growing supplier of materials, laboratory supplies, and technical products serving customers across research, education, and industrial markets. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Sourcing Specialist to help us identify reliable suppliers, source products competitively, and support the continued growth of our product portfolio. The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for identifying and evaluating suppliers, obtaining competitive pricing, negotiating purchasing terms, and ensuring products meet MSE Supplies’ quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Research and identify new domestic and international suppliers and manufacturers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
• Request and compare quotations, pricing, lead times, MOQs, and payment terms.
• Negotiate pricing and purchasing terms to achieve competitive costs.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, quality, reliability, and overall performance.
• Source new products and support the expansion of MSE Supplies’ product catalog.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding samples, product specifications, certifications, packaging, and documentation.
• Monitor purchase orders and follow up on production and delivery schedules.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve margins, and optimize sourcing strategies.
• Maintain accurate supplier, product, pricing, and purchasing information.
• Work closely with Sales, Procurement, Customer Experience, and Warehouse teams to resolve sourcing and supply issues.
• Track market trends, supplier developments, and pricing changes.
• Assist with supplier qualification and ongoing performance evaluations.
• Support other procurement and supply-chain initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, International Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related field.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Excellent skills in analyzing pricing, costs, product specifications, and supplier quotations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Professional written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience sourcing products internationally is a plus.
• Experience with laboratory, scientific, industrial, chemical, materials, or technical products is a strong plus.
