The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with large
amounts of financial and inventory data. This position requires someone who can identify discrepancies,
research problems, and work with multiple departments to resolve issues.
This position will work closely with Accounting, Purchasing, Sales, Warehouse, and Operations to ensure
inventory records are accurate, products are purchased at appropriate costs, vendor invoices are properly
recorded, and inventory transactions are reflected accurately in the accounting system.
We are looking for a self-starter, willing to learn on the job, and take ownership and pride over your work.
The ideal candidate is comfortable with learning and using new technology and has some bookkeeping or
accounting experience and is comfortable working remotely. This requires having high-speed and reliable
home internet. We’re looking for someone ready to learn and grow professionally and wants a career (not
just a job). We can train you on a lot of things, but here are our non-negotiables:

Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Comfortable learning and using new technology/software on the job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Research discrepancies between purchasing costs, inventory costs, and accounting records
Assist with maintaining accurate product costs within the ERP/accounting system.
Review and analyze product costs, including material, freight, and other applicable landed costs.
Assist with calculating and maintaining standard and/or actual costs.
Monitor cost changes from vendors and identify significant cost variances.
Assist with analyzing Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and gross margin.
Process and maintain purchase orders for inventory and other company purchases.
Review purchasing requirements and assist with determining appropriate order quantities.
Obtain and compare vendor pricing, freight costs, lead times, and payment terms.
Prepare recurring purchasing, inventory, and cost accounting reports.
Analyze purchasing trends, inventory levels, vendor pricing, and product costs.
Track inventory turns and other inventory performance metrics.
Assist management with identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in accounting, purchasing, inventory control, cost accounting, or a related
field.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas, filters, sorting, and spreadsheets.
Ability to analyze financial and inventory data.
Strong problem-solving and research skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to identify discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution
Experience with BOMs and manufacturing-related inventory.
Understanding of COGS, gross margin, inventory valuation, and general ledger reconciliation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred,
but not required with sufficient relevant experience.
