About the Role
We're a boutique branding studio based in the Netherlands. We work at the intersection of brand identity, strategy, and design execution, and everything we put out, including our short-form video, is expected to feel as considered as the brands we build.
We're looking for a skilled short-form video editor to join us on a gig basis, with a clear path toward part-time and eventually full-time collaboration for the right person. You'll receive a brief, brand deliverables, and a kick-off call, then own the edit from start to finish. Part of the work involves editing AI-generated footage (e.g. Kling, Runway) into finished, brand-grade reels, so comfort working with generated clips, and the imperfections that come with them, is essential.
This is not an entry-level role, and it is NOT for someone who just started editing and is looking to grow into the work. We need someone who has already done this at a high level, repeatedly, and can prove it with published work.
What You'll Do
- Receive project briefs via online meeting and written documentation, then independently own full short-form edits
- Cut vertical (9:16) reels for a range of brand contexts, including narrative pieces, product content, studio content, and more
- Design and animate captions and titles in the brand's typeface, kinetic typography that looks intentional rather than default auto-caption
- Handle sound design: choose and cut music, sync cuts to the beat, and time drops and hits so the edit lands emotionally
- Colour grade and unify footage from mixed sources, including AI-generated clips, into one cohesive look
- Work with AI-generated source clips: select the cleanest usable frames, cut around artefacts, and know when a clip needs regenerating
- Deliver organised, export-ready files to platform spec, and help us build reusable templates as the format matures
What This Role Is Not
This is not a role for a generalist or long-form editor. Wedding, vlog, corporate, and talking-head YouTube editing is a different craft, and we're specifically after short-form, brand-led vertical work.
It's not for CapCut-and-auto-captions editors. We care about custom, on-brand typography and real sound design, not templated defaults.
And it's not for someone who needs constant hand-holding. You receive the brief, ask the right questions upfront, and deliver, with proactive communication if questions come up.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- A strong portfolio of published short-form vertical work (Reels / TikTok / Shorts) that shows real craft. Brand or product content preferred, not personal vlogs. We will be looking at it critically
- Expert-level in either After Effects or Premiere Pro, and strong in the other. After Effects capability matters, because our caption and title work lives there
- Motion graphics and kinetic typography. You can animate text in a brand typeface and make it feel designed
- Genuine sound-design instinct. Cutting music to the beat and making a drop land is non-negotiable, it's where a good reel becomes a great one
- Colour grading, the ability to take mismatched clips and unify them into a single, cohesive look
- Comfortable editing AI-generated footage and working around its quirks
- Reliable communication in English, written and spoken
- Able to work independently from a brief with minimal back-and-forth
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with AI video tools (Kling, Runway, or similar)
- A templated, systematic way of working. You document your process, because we intend to make our best formats repeatable
- Familiarity with Figma and working from brand deliverables
- Prior agency or brand content experience
How We Work Together
Every project starts with a briefing call where we walk you through the use case, goals, and brand direction. After the call, we provide written documentation and all relevant brand deliverables. From there, you own the edit. We expect proactive communication if questions come up. No silence until delivery.
Compensation
This starts as a gig engagement, paid hourly, based on experience and portfolio. We pay well for the right person. Strong collaborators will have the opportunity to move into a structured part-time role, and eventually a full-time position as the relationship grows.
How to Apply
Send us:
- Your portfolio, links to published, live short-form work only. No unlisted mockups or screenshots of editor views. We want to see what you've actually shipped
- A short introduction: your background, the types of projects you've worked on, the tools you're expert in, and your hourly rate expectation
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a paid test project, one full reel edited from a real brief, before we move forward. Applications without a portfolio will not be reviewed.
