Role Overview
We are looking for skilled editors who can generate an article from our brief using AI and then edit it into something a real reader would finish and a client would be proud to publish. You are not a writer and you will not be starting from a blank page.
You own the piece from generation through to the version that goes to the client. You will work across client industries, currently weighted towards healthcare, with expansion into finance and other verticals.
This is not proofreading. Grammar and spelling are the floor, not the job. The hard part is the human factor. AI will hand you something fluent, confident and completely generic, and your job is to turn that into something that reads like a person who knows the subject wrote it. The finished article has to answer what the reader actually searched for, say something the first three Google results do not, and carry none of the tells that make a reader stop trusting the page.
Engagement Terms
- Tasks are posted in a WhatsApp group on a first come, first served basis, the same group you are added to once you have applied with the subject line I'm your star editor and cleared the test. The first person to claim a task owns it. If it is not delivered by the stated deadline, it goes back to the group.
- There is no minimum volume, but consistent editors get first sight of the bigger jobs.
- You will be given the client's style guide, the SEO brief and the target keyword for each piece.
Key Responsibilities
Writing quality
- Generate the first draft from our brief, target keyword and the SERP competitors using AI. Prompt it with the brief, the competitor pages and the client's existing copy rather than a one-line instruction. The raw output is your starting point, never your deliverable.
- Strip the AI tells before anyone else sees it: uniform paragraph lengths, em dashes, empty openers, hedged claims, lists with nothing specific in them, and confident statements with no source behind them.
- Ensure the text is free from grammar, spelling and punctuation errors.
- Keep the language user-friendly and concise. Cut filler.
- Match the client's house voice, including US or UK spelling as instructed per client.
Reader experience
- Logical: establish authority and credibility using supporting evidence such as statistics, academic publications, case studies, testimonials, Google reviews and relevant endorsements.
Emotional: create a sense of assurance and connection. Use the PEEL structure (Point, Elaboration, Example, Link) and keep it authentic and relatable.
- Highlight and sharpen the client's unique selling points so the piece does not read like every competitor's page.
SEO checks
- Confirm the draft answers the search intent behind the target keyword. If the ranking pages are comparisons and our draft is a sales page, flag it.
- Target keyword present in the H1, the first 100 words, the meta title and two or three H2s, placed naturally and never stuffed.
- Meta title and meta description within length, keyword front-loaded, appearing once, no filler calls to action.
- Correct heading hierarchy with no skipped levels.
- Internal links to the relevant service pages, with descriptive anchor text.
- Flag missing or unsourced claims and any section that is too thin to stand.
Business and compliance
- Place calls to action strategically, for example after treatments, after benefits, and after the "why choose us" section, rather than one block at the end.
- For healthcare clients, ensure the copy complies with the Healthcare Services (Advertisement) Regulations. Flag superlatives, guarantees, comparative claims and testimonials that cannot stand.
Preferred Skills
- Minimum 1 year of editing experience. Agency or content-marketing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of SEO. Deep technical SEO is a bonus, not a requirement.
- Able to drive AI tools well (ChatGPT, Claude or similar), and more importantly able to tell when the output is generic and fix it.
- Comfortable working from a brief and a style guide without hand-holding.
- Excellent written English, native or near-native fluency.
- Able to switch between US and UK spelling on instruction.
- Bonus: healthcare or finance content experience.
How to Apply
- Please attach your CV and two published pieces you edited, and name one of them you are still proud of.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
