About Us
We are an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization dedicated to serving and empowering youth of all ages through programs, resources, and community initiatives. As we grow, we are looking for an experienced Grant Specialist / Virtual Assistant to support our fundraising efforts and help us identify and pursue strong funding opportunities.

About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable nonprofit grant professional who can step into an existing grant process and provide research, editing, organization, and strategic support.
Our leadership team develops the ideas, program information, and initial content. We are looking for someone who can take what we have created and make it stronger—not someone who requires us to teach them the fundamentals of grant writing.
The ideal candidate understands what funders look for, can recognize opportunities for improvement, and knows how to make a proposal more compelling while maintaining our organization's authentic voice.

Responsibilities
Research foundation, corporate, government, and community grant opportunities that align with our youth-focused mission
Evaluate funders based on eligibility, priorities, geography, giving history, and overall fit
Review and edit grant proposals, narratives, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials
Strengthen proposals for clarity, organization, impact, and alignment with funder requirements
Identify gaps or weaknesses and recommend specific improvements
Help tailor existing content to individual funders and opportunities
Maintain an organized grant tracker, deadlines, and submission calendar
Help organize supporting documents and application materials
Monitor prospective funding opportunities and help build a strong grant pipeline
Provide constructive feedback and strategic recommendations throughout the grant process

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with meaningful nonprofit grant experience who can contribute specialized knowledge from day one.
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience with nonprofit grant research, writing, editing, or fundraising
Have contributed to successful grant applications or funded proposals
Be able to discuss previous grant work and their specific role in successful outcomes
Have excellent written English and strong editing skills
Understand how to align proposals with funder priorities
Be able to improve an existing draft without losing the organization's voice
Be highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
Work independently and communicate clearly
Be comfortable providing thoughtful, constructive feedback
Experience with youth-serving nonprofits, education, youth development, foundation grants, corporate giving, or government funding is a plus.

What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means helping us find stronger funding opportunities, improve the quality of our proposals, stay organized, and submit polished applications on time.
We are not looking for someone to simply provide generic grant lists or complete administrative tasks. We want a collaborative professional who can bring experience and judgment to the work we are already doing.

Schedule & Compensation
This is a remote, part-time position of up to 10 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Compensation is 5–8 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
