Northwear is a fast-growing Australian premium athleisure and fashion brand founded in 2019 by twin sisters Amy and Ellie. Our philosophy is simple: clothes that feel as good as they look. We're founder-led and online-only, with a loyal community (5.0? average across hundreds of reviews) and an engaged Instagram/TikTok audience. Our content is warm, polished, real — cool girl, not corporate. We never want it to feel like an ad.
The raw footage is already there — Amy is constantly filming. We need the person who can turn that into content people actually want to watch.
The Role
We're looking for a high-level Short-Form Video Editor to become the editor behind Northwear's TikTok, Reels, and Meta content. This isn't a traditional "add music and captions" role — we want someone with real taste and instinct, who can watch five minutes of raw phone footage and know exactly which 20 seconds will make someone stop scrolling. You'll work closely with our founder and have genuine creative input into how content is structured and presented.
What You'll Be Doing
• Edit raw phone footage into polished vertical video for TikTok, Reels, and Meta/Facebook
• Identify the strongest hooks, moments and stories within raw footage; edit for retention and pacing
• Add captions, on-screen text, trending audio and transitions
• Turn one raw footage session into multiple distinct pieces of content
• Make founder-led and talking-head content feel natural and social-first, not scripted
• Maintain a consistent Northwear visual identity; basic colour correction and audio cleanup
• Stay on top of current TikTok/Reels formats and trends
• Help manage a content/posting calendar so content goes out consistently
Must-Haves
• A genuinely strong portfolio of TikTok/Reels or short-form social content
• 2+ years of relevant short-form editing/content experience
• Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, retention and social storytelling
• Fluent in CapCut and/or Adobe Premiere Pro, with strong captioning/text skills
• Reliable internet and hardware capable of handling video editing
• Able to work independently from a brief with minimal supervision, consistently meeting 24–48 hour turnarounds
• Full-time availability, working within a daily AEST-aligned workflow (flexible hours — not a rigid 9–5 — but reliably available for briefs and turnarounds)
Big Plus If You Have
• Experience with fashion, apparel, beauty, lifestyle or DTC/e-commerce brands
• Experience editing founder-led content or raw iPhone/phone footage
• A strong sense of TikTok trends before they go mainstream
• Basic motion graphics or Canva skills
• Experience using performance data to improve content
What You Get
• PHP 50,000–75,000/month based on experience — top end available for editors who demonstrate strong retention-focused thinking
• Stable, ongoing full-time work with a growing Australian brand
• Direct access to a founder-led creative team and genuine creative input — this is not a content mill
• Fast decision-making, and room to grow into a bigger content/creative role as Northwear scales
How to Apply
Applications that skip the steps below won't be considered — we're deliberately filtering for people who actually read the brief.
• Start your application with: NORTHWEAR HOOK — this must be the first thing in your application
• Send your 3 best short-form videos (TikTok/Reels), ideally showing raw footage ? final edit, with one sentence per video on why it worked
• In 2–3 sentences: what's one thing you'd change about Northwear's current TikTok or Instagram content, just from looking at our page?
• Shortlisted applicants get a short piece of raw Northwear footage and turn it into a short-form video as a paid test edit — $30 AUD, paid regardless of outcome, within 48 hours of submission
