Why You'll Love This Role
We're a fast-growing Australian group of businesses in the entertainment and technology space, running physical venues and launching a brand-new B2B tech arm. AI is core to how we operate: we already run AI agents that handle reporting, monitoring, and staff workflows, and we're scaling that aggressively. We're looking for one engineer to own and grow these systems end-to-end, with a path to lead an AI engineering team as we scale. If you want real ownership (building production systems, not demos) and a stable, long-term home, this is it.
What You'll Own & Execute
This is a hands-on role. You'll design, build, and maintain AI systems that run real business operations across our venues and software products.
- AI Agents & Automation: build and maintain agents that handle reporting, monitoring, data entry, and staff workflows
- LLM Integration: connect models (Claude, GPT, open models) to our internal systems, APIs, and dashboards
- Internal Tools: ship full-stack tools our staff actually use (TypeScript/Next.js, Python)
- Business Integrations: Connecteam, Google Sheets, Xero,
- Data & Insights: turn sales, roster, and inventory data into automated reports, alerts, and recommendations
- Reliability: prompts, structured outputs, evals, and guardrails so agents stay accurate and safe in production
Day-to-Day Rhythm
Daily: monitor agent runs, fix failures, ship small improvements.
Weekly: ship one meaningful automation or feature + a short progress report to the CEO.
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
Our core operational reports and workflows run reliably on autopilot, failures are caught and fixed before staff notice, and leadership has clear visibility on what the AI systems are doing, thanks to your weekly reports.
Who You Are
- 3+ years in software engineering, with 1+ year building real things with LLM APIs
- Strong in Python and TypeScript, comfortable across the stack
- Hands-on experience with agents, tool use, RAG, and structured output
- You have shipped AI features that real people used, and you can talk about what broke
- Self-directed, organized, and able to juggle multiple projects
- Excellent written + spoken English
The Opportunity
Stable, long-term, full-time remote role with genuine room to grow, build and lead an AI engineering team as the business scales, working directly with the CEO.
How to Apply (please include all 5, incomplete applications won't be reviewed)
1. A short 1-2 min video introducing yourself and why you're a great fit (required, this is how we know you're a real applicant)
2. Your updated CV
3. Links (GitHub, portfolio, demos) to AI projects or automations you personally built
4. The scenario question: One of our venue managers spends 2 hours a day pulling data from 3 different systems to compile a daily report. Sketch how you would fully automate it: what data you'd pull, what the agent would produce, and how you'd keep it accurate and reliable
5. Your expected monthly salary (AUD or PHP)
