I’m looking for a smart, highly resourceful person to work with me across several ecommerce businesses.
This is a broad role. You’ll help with whatever needs to get done across the businesses — research, ecommerce tasks, creative work, organization, admin, AI-assisted work, and various one-off requests.
There won’t be a fixed set of tasks you repeat every day. Examples of the kind of work you might do include:
* Researching competitors, products, suppliers, tools, or new ideas
* Finding and organizing information, ads, content, or creative inspiration
* Creating images, written content, and other assets using AI
* Working with Shopify and various ecommerce apps
* Building and organizing spreadsheets
* Uploading, editing, or organizing content and creative assets
* Finding and comparing services, software, freelancers, or vendors
* Researching questions and presenting the useful information clearly
* Learning new software when a task requires it
* Finding ways to automate or dramatically speed up repetitive work
* Handling miscellaneous business and administrative tasks
Over time, I’d also like this role to develop into more of an executive/personal assistant position. As you learn how I work and how the businesses operate, you’ll be trusted with a wider variety of business and personal tasks.
The tasks themselves usually aren’t particularly difficult. Being able to understand what I want, use common sense, and figure out an efficient way to get it done is the important part.
Who I’m Looking For
The most important thing I’m looking for is someone intelligent, technically capable, resourceful, and extremely comfortable figuring things out independently.
I don’t expect you to already know how to do everything. If I give you something you’ve never done before, I expect you to be comfortable using AI, Google, documentation, YouTube, or whatever other resources are useful to work it out.
You should have:
* Excellent English, particularly reading comprehension
* Strong common sense and judgment
* Very good research skills
* An unusually high level of comfort with AI and technology
* The ability to learn new software extremely quickly
* Strong attention to detail
* Reliability and responsiveness
* The ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
* The ability to operate independently when instructions aren’t detailed
Previous ecommerce or Shopify experience is useful, but technical ability, intelligence, and adaptability are more important to me.
I’d rather hire someone extremely capable who has to learn Shopify than someone with five years of Shopify experience who needs an SOP for everything.
AI & Technical Skills — Important
This is one of the most important parts of the role.
I’m not just looking for someone who has “experience with ChatGPT.” At this point, almost everyone does.
I’m particularly interested in people who are genuinely AI-native and use AI for more advanced purposes.
For example, you might:
* Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar tools to build things or solve technical problems
* Build scripts, small tools, websites, or internal utilities with AI
* Use APIs or connect different services together
* Build automations using tools such as n8n, Make, or Zapier
* Create workflows or agents that automate repetitive work
* Use AI image generation/editing tools extensively
* Experiment with new AI tools and find practical uses for them
* Use AI to manipulate or analyze large amounts of information
* Find ways to turn tasks that would normally take hours into something much faster
You do not need to be a professional software developer. In fact, I’m very interested in people who have learned to build or automate surprisingly advanced things using AI without necessarily having a traditional programming background.
If you’re the kind of person who constantly experiments with new AI tools, builds random things with them, and uses AI to figure out things you previously couldn’t do, you’ll probably be a strong fit.
AI will also increasingly be used for creative work across our ecommerce brands, including generating and editing images, researching advertising ideas, and helping create written advertising content.
Hours & Pay
This role starts at $600 USD/month for approximately 15 hours per week.
The workload will vary. Some days may be busier than others, so I’m looking for someone with flexibility rather than someone who needs to work exactly the same three hours every day.
I’m based in the UK, so good overlap with UK da
This is intended to be a long-term role. If you’re excellent at the job, I expect the role, responsibilities, hours, and compensation to grow over time.
How to Apply
Please answer the following questions:
1. Tell me briefly about yourself and your previous work experience.
2. Tell me about how you use AI. I’m particularly interested in anything beyond basic ChatGPT usage — things you’ve built, automated, coded, created, or figured out using AI.
3. What’s the most technically impressive or useful thing you’ve made using AI? Explain what it does and how you made it. Links/screenshots are welcome if you have them.
4. Which AI tools do you currently use regularly?
5. Tell me about a task you were given where you didn’t initially know how to do it. How did you figure it out?
6. What ecommerce platforms, software, or tools have you worked with?
7. What hours are you generally available in Philippine time?
8. Are you available on weekends when needed?
I’m much more interested in how you think and what you’re capable of doing than having the perfect CV.
The strongest applicants will be invited to complete a short paid practical test before I hire someone.
