JOB OVERVIEW

Short-Form Video Editor for E-Commerce Brand

(ADS)

About us

We’re a small e-commerce brand selling cleaning and laundry products to customers in the UK and Scandinavia. Almost all of our growth comes from paid ads on Facebook and Instagram, which means video is the most important thing we make. We’re looking for someone to take that over.

## What you’ll be doing

* Editing short video ads, usually 30 to 90 seconds, for Facebook and Instagram Reels
* Turning raw UGC clips, product footage and screen recordings into finished ads
* Adding captions, hooks, music and b-roll
* Making several versions of an ad that’s working, with different hooks and openings, so we can test them against each other
* Working from the briefs and reference videos we send you
* Delivering mostly in 9:16, sometimes square or landscape

## Who we’re hoping to find

Honestly, we care more about attitude than experience:

* You’ve spent some time editing video and you know your way around an app like CapCut or Premiere
* You’re reliable, you reply to messages, and you hit your deadlines
* You actually care whether the ad works, not just whether the file got sent
* You want to grow with a brand rather than jump between one-off gigs

If you’re early in your career, please still apply. We’re a young company ourselves, and we’re happy to teach someone who’s willing to learn.

## What we pay

* $7 for every finished video. You’re editing footage we provide, so there’s no filming or scriptwriting involved
* $15 bonus every time one of your videos wins. By that we mean an ad we d ---------- to scale and keep running because it’s making us money. That takes a single video up to $22
* Your rate goes up over time. If you’re consistent and your videos bring us results, we’ll pay you more. It’s a much better deal for us to pay one good editor properly than to keep hiring cheap ones

We’ll always tell you which of your videos won and what we think made the difference, so you can make more of them.

## Volume

* Around two to three videos a day to begin with
* We’ll work out the exact weekly number together once we see your pace
* Plenty of room to increase it as we grow
* Hours are flexible. We only care that the work is good and lands on time

## How to apply

Please do all four of these, otherwise we’ll skip your application:

1. Put "Northern" in the title, so we know you read this far
2. Send us two or three videos you’ve edited. They don’t have to be ads.
3. Tell us what you edit in
4. Tell us how many videos a day you could realistically manage

If we like what we see, we’ll ask you to do one paid test video at the normal $7 rate before we d ---------- .

We read everything and we reply to everyone who’s serious about it.
