JOB OVERVIEW

I’m looking for a Medical Billing Team Lead to join our team and support our overall medical billing and revenue cycle. In this role, you’ll be managing a distributed team, training new medical billers as they join us, and making sure our daily operations run smoothly. I need someone who is a strong leader and deeply experienced in full revenue cycle management to help guide the team to success.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily biller workflows to monitor and support your team's workload, ensuring claims, payments, denials, and clinic tasks are completed accurately and on time
- Monitor claims submission to ensure encounters are sent to insurance companies correctly and promptly, jumping in to address any delays or recurring issues
- Step in to assist with complex denials and rejections, ensure appropriate appeals are submitted, and identify trends that require process changes or extra training
- Review payment posting and account reconciliation accuracy, helping your billers resolve any discrepancies
- Support patient billing and balance accuracy while providing guidance on tricky patient account issues
- Act as the first point of escalation for billing questions, handling patient, insurance, and clinic-related concerns that your assigned billers can't resolve
- Make sure your team maintains consistent, clear communication with their assigned clinics via Fix It Lists, Google Meet, email, and phone
- Review required trackers and billing spreadsheets to guarantee our work is documented accurately and kept completely up to date
- Train, coach, and support our billers day-to-day by answering questions, bridging knowledge gaps, and setting clear expectations for proper processes
- Monitor your team's overall quality, productivity, and accountability, addressing concerns and coaching through performance issues as they arise

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of proven management experience in healthcare operations, medical billing, or call center environments
- Strong, comprehensive knowledge of insurance medical billing and full revenue cycle billing
- Proven success in training staff and managing teams, specifically remote and distributed teams (including virtual assistants)
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Hands-on experience using WebPT, Stride, Tebra, Prompt, and Heno is a must
- Amenable to work during PST Business hours (PH GY shifts)
