Hi! We're Dominik and Josefine, the creators behind Red White Adventures, a travel and adventure brand. We film our travels around the world and turn them into Instagram Reels and short-form videos. We're growing, and I (Josefine) am spending too much of my week editing.
I'm looking for a part-time video editor to become my go-to person for turning our raw travel footage into scroll-stopping Reels. This is a long-term, ongoing role as I want to find one reliable person and work together for a long time on a recurring weekly basis.
What you'd be doing (day-to-day):
- Editing Instagram Reels in CapCut (desktop) from footage I send you
- Two main types of reels:
1. Voiceover reels — longer and more involved: cutting to a script/voiceover I record, matching visuals to what's being said, pacing it well
2. Quick montage reels — shorter, punchy, music-driven edits (matching with text hooks)
- Clean cuts and good pacing
- Adding captions/subtitles and syncing them accurately
- Sound: music selection/sync, balancing voiceover vs. music, cleaning up audio
- Creating A/B versions so I can test which performs best.
- Following a simple brief for each video (hook, vibe, must-include shots)
- Bonus if you can help me come up with ideas for text hooks based on our current content, performance, & trends
Volume: Roughly 30 to 40 reels per month (about 5–10 per week) — a mix of the two types above.
Must-haves:
- Real experience editing short-form vertical video (Reels / TikTok / Shorts)
- Comfortable in CapCut (desktop) or similar
- Good sense of pacing and rhythm for short-form montage videos
- Accurate captioning/subtitles and clean sound
- Reliable and consistent – you hit turnaround times and communicate if something's off
- Comfortable understanding English-language briefs and voiceovers
- Stable internet (you'll download/upload large video files regularly)
- Basic colour correction / making footage look consistent
Nice-to-haves (bonus, not required):
- A feel for travel/adventure content
- Sourcing trending audio
- Light motion graphics / text animation in CapCut
- Idea generation – while I’d love for you to stick to my directions 90% of the time, I always appreciate feedback and ideas – especially when A/B testing on Trials
Hours, pay & schedule:
- Part-time, roughly 10 hours/week (up to ~15 hrs/week during busier weeks)
- Pay is competitive, and I'm happy to pay well for the right person.
- This role starts with a small paid trial edit, so we can both see if it's a fit – I may trial a couple of editors at once, and everyone who does the trial gets paid for it.
- Flexible hours – I care more about hitting deadlines and quality than which hours you work. Some overlap with my day for messaging is a plus.
How to apply — please read carefully:
1. Start your application with the word "ADVENTURE" at the very top so I know you actually read this post.
2. Tell me briefly about your experience editing short-form vertical video, and confirm you use CapCut.
3. Share 1–3 links to reels/short videos you've edited (portfolio, drive folder, or social links).
4. Tell me your timezone and roughly what hours you're available.
5. Please include your weekly rates for 10 videos.
Applications that don't start with ADVENTURE or don't include work samples won't be considered. Looking forward to meeting my new teammate! ????
