JOB OVERVIEW

**Detail-Oriented Video Editor with Graphic Design Experience Wanted**

The New College Perspective is seeking a highly detail-oriented video editor with a strong graphic design background.

Our mission is to help college students graduate employed and debt-free. We need an editor who connects with this mission and can transform educational content into polished, engaging, and visually compelling videos.

**Content and Deliverables**

Our content includes:

* Long-form podcast episodes up to 1 hour and 10 minutes
* Talking-head videos up to 15 minutes
* Shorts

For each video, the editor will provide:

* A polished full-length edit
* Clean audio and consistent video quality (audio is very important)
* High quality graphic design
* Strong pacing and smooth transitions
* Removal of mistakes, excessive pauses, and unnecessary sections
* Professional text, graphics, and branded visual elements
* An SEO-ready title, description, keywords, and tags
* Three engaging vertical short-form clips

For long-form podcast episodes, we want a compelling opening inspired by *The Diary of a CEO*. This should feature carefully selected highlights from the conversation, arranged into a strong teaser that creates curiosity and encourages viewers to continue watching.

These links are creative references. We want an editor who can understand the direction while developing a polished style that fits The New College Perspective brand.

**Editing and Review Workflow**

* You may use any editing software you prefer.
* Each completed draft must be uploaded to Descript for review.
* I will leave time-stamped comments and revision requests directly on the Descript draft.
* You will be responsible for reviewing the comments, completing the requested revisions, and returning the updated version to Descript.
* We will pay for your Descript seat.
* Brand assets and individual episode elements—including backgrounds and other graphics—will be available in Canva.
* You should be comfortable working with Canva assets and incorporating them accurately and consistently into each edit.

**Portfolio Required**

A relevant portfolio is required for consideration. It should demonstrate:

* Long-form podcast editing
* Talking-head editing
* Short-form vertical content
* Graphic design, typography, and on-screen visuals
* Strong pacing and attention to detail
* Looking for someone who is creative

Applications submitted without a portfolio will not be considered.

**Paid Sample Edit**

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a paid sample edit. Instructions, source material, deadline, and compensation will be provided before work begins.
