JOB OVERVIEW

Vantage College Recruiting is a growing college basketball recruiting service helping high school basketball players get exposure to college coaches.

I am looking for a talented and efficient full-time Video Editor who can create professional basketball highlight videos and short-form recruiting content for our athletes.

This is not a position for someone who only knows basic video editing. You should understand how to create clean, professional sports content and be comfortable working with basketball game footage.

This has the potential to become a long-term position as the company continues to grow.

Responsibilities
Edit basketball highlight videos for high school athletes
Combine clips from multiple games into organized highlight tapes
Review provided basketball clips and identify the strongest plays
Organize highlights so the athlete’s best plays appear early in the video
Add player identification such as arrows, circles, spotlights, or freeze frames when appropriate
Add professional title screens and player information
Improve audio and video quality when necessary
Create shorter highlight videos for X, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms
Export videos in the correct formats and resolutions
Organize completed projects and source footage
Make revisions when necessary
Follow established editing templates and brand guidelines
Complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality

Depending on the project, you may receive either:

Pre-selected basketball clips, or
Longer game footage that needs to be reviewed

The majority of the role will eventually focus on editing selected clips into professional recruiting videos.

Editing Style

Our highlight videos should be:

Clean
Professional
Easy for college coaches to watch
Focused on the basketball rather than excessive effects
Fast-paced without being distracting
Designed to clearly identify the athlete

The goal is not to create flashy entertainment videos. The goal is to make it extremely easy for a college coach to evaluate the player.

Preferred Software

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

Adobe Premiere Pro
DaVinci Resolve
Final Cut Pro
CapCut

You should have access to your own computer capable of editing long HD basketball videos.

A strong video editor
Fast and efficient
Reliable with deadlines
Detail-oriented
Comfortable receiving feedback and revisions
Able to communicate clearly in English
Able to work independently
Interested in a long-term position

Previous experience editing:

Basketball
Sports highlights
Recruiting videos
YouTube sports content

is strongly preferred.

Understanding basketball is a major advantage.

Schedule

Approximately 40 hours per week.

The schedule can be relatively flexible as long as projects are completed on time and communication is consistent.
