JOB OVERVIEW

Position: Full-Time Excel & Business Data Analyst
Hours: 40 hours/week
Rate: Starting at $5/hour, negotiable based on skills and experience
Location: Remote / Work from Home
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Excel & Business Data Analyst to join our team.
This is not an entry-level bookkeeping position. We need someone who is highly analytical, excellent with numbers, and very experienced with Excel and data analysis.
You will work with large amounts of information involving work orders, employee time, job costs, credit card transactions, receipts, QuickBooks, and Shopify. Your job will be to analyze the information, identify discrepancies, and help ensure that our jobs and materials are being properly tracked and remain profitable.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze work orders, timesheets, timecards, and employee hours
Verify that employee hours are properly assigned and billed to the correct jobs
Identify missing or unbilled hours
Analyze credit card transactions and receipts and ensure they are properly connected to the correct jobs
Review data entered by different team members and identify missing or incorrect information
Create and maintain Excel reports for management
Analyze job costs, sales, expenses, and profitability
Compare materials purchased against materials sold
Analyze Shopify sales reports and compare them with purchasing and accounting records
Identify unusual transactions, discrepancies, and potential financial losses
Assist with reviewing QuickBooks records and reconciliations
Help review year-end financial records and identify issues that need attention
Create reports and dashboards that make large amounts of data easy to understand
Help improve and organize our existing reporting and tracking processes
Work closely with management and other team members to ensure data is accurate and complete
Required Skills
Advanced Excel skills are required.
You should be comfortable with:
PivotTables
PivotCharts
VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP
IF formulas
SUMIF / SUMIFS
Data filtering and sorting
Data analysis and reporting
Creating professional spreadsheets
Building flowcharts
Working with large datasets
Connecting Excel with SharePoint
Identifying patterns, errors, and discrepancies in data
Software Experience
Experience with the following is strongly preferred:
Microsoft Excel – Advanced
QuickBooks
Shopify
Microsoft SharePoint
You do not need to know our exact systems or processes because we can train you on those. However, you must already have a strong understanding of Excel, data analysis, and financial/business reporting.

Important
This position requires someone who can analyze and understand the numbers, not simply enter information.
For example, if the company purchases a large amount of a particular material, the analyst should be able to compare the purchases against sales, calculate margins, identify discrepancies, and bring potential problems to management's attention.
We will train you on our specific work orders, systems, processes, and reporting requirements. However, we are not looking for someone who needs to be taught basic Excel or basic data analysis.
Compensation & Growth
Starting compensation is $5/hour, with the final rate negotiable depending on experience and demonstrated skills.
There is significant opportunity for growth and future pay increases for someone who proves their ability, takes initiative, and becomes an important part of the team.
This is intended to be a long-term position for the right person.
