JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a **Short-Form Video Editor** to join our content team and help grow our social media presence across **YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels**.

### Job Details

**Niche:** Forex Trading, Investing & Financial Education
**Content:** TikTok, YouTube Shorts & Instagram Reels
**Volume:** Approximately **28 short-form videos per month**
**Content Breakdown:**

* ~24 clips repurposed from long-form YouTube content
* ~4 original personality/strategy clips
**Video Length:** Generally 20–60 seconds
**Turnaround:** 24–48 hours per batch/video depending on workload
**Rate:** **$3 per finished short**, depending on complexity
**Duration:** Long-term relationship

I'm looking for a short-form editor who understands that creating Shorts isn't just about cutting a long video into vertical format.

The goal is to create **scroll-stopping content that grabs attention quickly, keeps viewers engaged, and ultimately drives people toward my YouTube channel.**

My channel focuses on forex trading, swing trading, market analysis, trading psychology, educational content, and trading challenges.

I'm looking for someone who understands **hooks, pacing, retention, captions, storytelling, and short-form content trends.**

I'm not looking for overly flashy edits just for the sake of being flashy. I want the editing to feel modern, engaging, clean, and natural while still giving viewers a reason to keep watching.

## Content Strategy

The monthly workflow will consist of approximately **28 Shorts**:

### 1. Long-Form Repurposing — ~24 Shorts

I will provide long-form YouTube content that can be turned into multiple short-form clips.

You should be able to identify the strongest moments, hooks, lessons, opinions, or entertaining sections and turn them into standalone Shorts.

The clips should make sense **without requiring someone to watch the full YouTube video first.**

### 2. Native Short-Form Content — ~4 Shorts

These will be specifically recorded for short-form content.

These may include:

* Trading tips
* Strategy explanations
* Trading psychology
* Quick market insights
* Personal opinions
* Personality-driven content
* Educational concepts

These should feel native to TikTok/Reels/Shorts rather than simply feeling like shortened YouTube videos.

## Responsibilities

* Turn long-form YouTube content into engaging short-form videos
* Identify strong moments and potential hooks
* Create compelling openings within the first few seconds
* Remove unnecessary pauses, filler words, and dead space
* Add clean, engaging captions
* Highlight important words or phrases
* Use zooms, cuts, B-roll, sound effects, and motion graphics when appropriate
* Reframe footage properly for **9:16 vertical format**
* Maintain strong pacing throughout the video
* Make educational content easy to understand
* Create edits that feel native to TikTok, Shorts, and Reels
* Add subtle visual effects that improve retention without becoming distracting
* Include a CTA toward the YouTube channel when appropriate
* Maintain consistent branding across all short-form content

## What I'm Looking For

The ideal editor understands:

**HOOK ? VALUE ? RETENTION ? CTA**

You should know how to take something like:

> "Here's something most beginner traders don't understand..."

and turn it into an opening that makes someone want to keep watching.

I'm looking for someone who can recognize the **most interesting part of a conversation or lesson** and build the Short around that moment.

## Editing Style

I want the content to feel:

* Clean
* Modern
* Engaging
* Fast-paced when appropriate
* Easy to follow
* Personality-driven
* Professional
* Native to short-form platforms

I don't want every second filled with effects.

**Good pacing and storytelling are more important than excessive effects.**

Captions should be visually engaging but still easy to read.

## Requirements

* Previous experience editing TikTok, Instagram Reels, and/or YouTube Shorts
* Strong understanding of short-form audience retention
* Ability to create strong hooks
* Experience with captions and on-screen text
* Understanding of 9:16 vertical video
* Experience with Premiere Pro, CapCut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar software
* Strong communication skills
* Reliable turnaround times
* Fluent or advanced English
* Willing to accept feedback and continuously improve
* Ability to identify strong moments from long-form content independently

## Bonus

You will stand out if you:

* Have experience editing content in the **finance, trading, investing, or educational niche**
* Understand trading terminology
* Have experience growing short-form content
