We are looking for an intelligent, highly reliable and proactive YouTube Channel Manager to help oversee the day-to-day operations of a growing portfolio of YouTube channels.
This is not a role for someone who simply waits for instructions.
We need someone with excellent english, strong judgment, critical thinking and attention to detail who can understand our systems, identify problems, keep team members accountable and make sensible decisions without needing constant supervision.
You should be comfortable questioning something when it does not make sense rather than blindly agreeing with it.
If a deadline is going to be missed, a video contains a mistake, a team member has forgotten something or you notice something unusual on a channel, we expect you to identify it and take action before management has to find it.
Main Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for helping manage the daily operation of up to seven YouTube channels, including:
* Uploading, scheduling and publishing videos according to our content calendar
* Checking videos before publication and carrying out quality-control checks
* Optimising titles, descriptions, playlists, cards, end screens and other publishing settings using our SOPs
* Scheduling and publishing community posts
* Managing and replying to YouTube comments
* Monitoring channel performance and reporting unusual changes
* Coordinating with editors, scriptwriters and thumbnail designers
* Following up when work is late or incomplete
* Making sure upcoming videos are on track before deadlines become emergencies
* Maintaining production trackers, spreadsheets and internal documentation
* Identifying missing assets, mistakes or workflow problems
* Escalating important issues quickly
* Providing clear progress updates to management
* Assisting with other YouTube operations when required
## The Type of Person We Want
We care significantly more about **how you think and work** than how impressive your CV looks.
You must:
* Have excellent written and spoken English
* Have experience using YouTube Studio
* Experience using proxies is welcome
* Have strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
* Be extremely organised
* Have excellent attention to detail
* Be dependable and consistent
* Be comfortable managing several deadlines simultaneously
* Be willing to chase team members when deadlines are missed
* Communicate problems rather than hiding them
* Ask questions when something genuinely does not make sense
* Be willing to respectfully challenge an instruction if you believe something has been overlooked
* Be able to prioritise important problems
* Take initiative without needing permission for every small decision
* Be capable of working independently once trained
* Be comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude
* Be willing to learn new software and online systems
* Have good availability during UK GMT/BST working hours
* Have a reliable computer and internet connection
* Be comfortable attending Zoom or Google Meet calls
Previous experience with YouTube channel management, project management software such as Asana, content scheduling, remote-team coordination or community management is highly desirable.
Previous management experience is useful but not essential.
**Good judgment, reliability and initiative are more important to us than having a management title on your CV.**
## Training
During your first week, you will work closely with me through Zoom calls and Loom training videos while learning our systems, SOPs, workflows and publishing standards.
Once trained, you will be expected to take increasing ownership of your responsibilities rather than waiting to be reminded about every task.
## Salary
The salary is **$250 per month**. This is initially a part-time position.
There is significant potential for the role to develop into a larger, higher-paid and potentially full-time operations management position as the business continues to grow.
