Texas-based plaintiff-side personal injury firm seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal. This is a fully remote position for a candidate who can independently manage a case from the moment a lawsuit is filed through trial preparation, with no training period required.
What We're Looking For
We are hiring specifically for post-filing litigation work — from petition through trial. This is not a pre-suit or intake-focused role, and we are not seeking anyone who needs to be trained on the fundamentals of personal injury litigation.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 3 years of demonstrated plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience
Working knowledge of litigation from petition through trial
Working knowledge of Texas civil procedure and Texas law as it applies to personal injury litigation
Direct, hands-on experience with case management software
Experience managing a high-volume active caseload of filed litigation matters
Duties and Responsibilities
Draft original petitions and initiate new lawsuits
Draft and file amended petitions
Draft discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
Draft responses to discovery requests received from opposing counsel
Complete Defendant's Written Discovery Questionnaires (DWQs)
Identify appropriate expert witnesses for each case
Prepare and file designation of experts
Prepare initial disclosures
Prepare for and coordinate depositions, including scheduling, exhibit preparation, and logistics with opposing counsel, court reporters, and clients
Track and manage all case deadlines
Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance adjusters as needed
Schedule
This is a fully remote position. Candidates must be resourceful and capable of ensuring physical tasks get done even while working remotely — for example, coordinating with in-office staff to have documents printed, organized, or delivered, or arranging third-party legal support services to handle physical trial preparation, exhibit production, or courier needs. The ability to problem-solve and make these things happen without being physically present is essential. Candidates must be available and reachable approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday. Some scheduling flexibility is available for the right candidate.
International applicants: this schedule is fixed to Central Time (United States), not your local time zone. If you are located in the Philippines, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time falls at approximately 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Philippine time, meaning this would be an overnight shift for you. Please confirm you understand this before applying and that you are able and willing to work these hours on your local clock.
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience. Please include your minimum compensation requirement with your application.
