JOB OVERVIEW

# Technical SEO / Google Indexing Specialist

I run an established local service website in New Zealand that already ranks in Google, receives good organic traffic and generates real customers.

I have one specific problem that I need help solving.

A significant number of genuine pages on the website are sitting in Google Search Console as:

* **Discovered – currently not indexed**
* **Crawled – currently not indexed**

Many other pages on the same website are indexed and ranking normally.

We've already investigated some of the affected pages. Google can access them, crawling and indexing are allowed, they're included in the sitemap, canonical URLs are correct and Google can successfully render them.

**I want to understand why Google isn't indexing more of these pages and what we can realistically do about it.**

## What I'm NOT looking for

I'm not looking for:

* More blog posts — I already have plenty.
* A generic automated SEO audit.
* A backlink package.
* Someone to rewrite all my meta descriptions.
* Someone promising #1 Google rankings.
* Someone who simply tells me I need "better SEO."

And initially, **you will not be making changes to the website.**

I want someone who can investigate first.

## Paid trial – US$60

I will select a small number of applicants for a **US$60 paid technical trial**.

The trial will involve up to approximately **3 hours investigating the indexing problem**.

I will provide more detailed information and relevant Google Search Console data to the selected applicants.

I want you to tell me:

1. What you think is happening.
2. What evidence supports your conclusion.
3. What is fact and what is still only a theory.
4. What you would test first.
5. How we would measure whether that test worked.

You do **not** need to pretend you know the answer before investigating it.

If you don't know something, tell me.

I'd much rather work with someone who says **“I don't know yet, but here's how I'll find out”** than somebody who confidently gives me an answer they can't support.

## What I'm looking for

You should have genuine hands-on experience with:

* Google Search Console
* Google crawling and indexing
* Technical SEO
* WordPress / WooCommerce
* Sitemaps and site structure
* Diagnosing indexing problems

I'm much more interested in **what you can actually do** than certificates or qualifications.

Please answer that question in your own words.

I don't need a long list of SEO services you provide.

## Longer-term opportunity

This trial is also about finding the right person for possible **ongoing permanent part-time work**.

If you're technically capable, reliable, honest about what you do and don't know, and we work well together, I'd like to have someone who can learn the website over time and help me with its technical SEO.

The ongoing hours and rate would be discussed separately if we d ---------- to work together.

I'm not looking for someone to blindly run my website.

I'm looking for someone who can **investigate, explain, test and measure.
