Job Summary
The Project In-Charge – Electrical Engineer is responsible for the overall planning, execution, supervision, and completion of electrical works at the project site. The role ensures that all electrical installations are completed safely, efficiently, within the approved schedule and budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
-Plan, coordinate, and supervise all electrical works and site activities.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs, material submittals, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines.
- Monitor project progress and ensure electrical works are completed according to the approved schedule.
-Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, technical specifications, and applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify construction issues, defects, and technical discrepancies.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of electrical materials and equipment.
- Verify quantities, materials, and workmanship before installation and during project execution.
- Review and approve method statements, inspection requests, test reports, and other technical documents as required.
- Monitor the performance of electrical contractors and subcontractors.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning activities, including inspections and troubleshooting.
- Ensure proper implementation of electrical safety procedures and site HSE requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, daily reports, progress reports, inspection records, and as-built information.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical updates, progress reports, and recommendations.
- Assist in resolving technical and construction-related issues.
- Monitor project costs and support the project team in controlling variations and additional works.
- Ensure completion of snagging, testing, commissioning, documentation, and final handover.
- Perform other duties related to electrical project execution as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional engineering license/registration where required by local regulations.
- Relevant certifications in electrical safety, project management, or HSE are an advantage.
