## About Us
Wick of Hope is a Canadian candle company selling wholesale to retailers across Canada and the United States. Our customers include gift shops, boutiques, home stores, and larger accounts that reorder every season.
The same owners also run Launch & Found. One side of the business is a marketing agency serving local businesses across Canada and the US through websites, Google and Meta advertising, and SEO.
The other side is software. We build our own subscription products in-house. Some are already selling, several are approaching launch, and future products will take us into markets beyond the local businesses we serve today.
One small team supports both companies. Most of your week will be spent growing Wick of Hope’s wholesale business. The rest will be focused on selling Launch & Found’s marketing services and growing portfolio of software products.
## The Role
This is a full-cycle outbound sales position. You will be responsible for building the pipeline, creating the opportunity, and closing the deal.
On the wholesale side, you will own the buyer relationship from the first cold call through the first purchase order and then keep that account reordering. You will identify suitable independent retailers, reach the person who d
On the marketing side, you will book and run your own 30-minute demos with realtors, contractors, and home-service business owners across Canada and the US. One owner may need a website, another may need advertising, and another may need SEO. Working out what they actually need is half the job. You will present the solution over screen share, explain what it costs and why it is worth it, answer objections, and ask for the sale.
You will also sell our subscription software. Some products already have customers; others will be brand new to the market. Depending on the product, you may be selling into entirely different industries and customer profiles. You must be comfortable learning a new market, understanding the outcome the product delivers, and building the sales approach without years of case studies or testimonials behind you.
Both companies rely heavily on outbound calling. You will build the entire pipeline yourself: researching prospects, creating lead lists, making calls, getting past gatekeepers, booking meetings, running demos, following up, and closing.
If you have only worked leads that someone else handed you, this position will not suit you.
Nobody is going to build the process for you either. If something in the pipeline is not working, we expect you to identify it, speak up, and help fix it.
## What You Will Own
* A self-generated pipeline across both companies
* New wholesale accounts, from the first cold call to the first purchase order
* Reorders and ongoing relationships for every wholesale account you open
* Every marketing or software demo you book—and the deal that comes from it
* Consistent follow-up until each opportunity is won, lost, or disqualified
* A CRM that accurately reflects what happened on every call, what comes next, and when
* Your daily activity, pipeline health, and sales results
## What You Bring
* Cold-calling ability that produces results. You can engage someone who did not ask to hear from you, hold their attention past the first ten seconds, and secure a clear next step.
* The ability to build targeted lead lists from scratch using Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Google Maps, or whatever tools you prefer. Nobody is handing you a finished list.
* Several years of experience closing B2B deals by phone and video, with real numbers you can walk us through.
* Confidence running live product demonstrations over screen share.
* Experience selling to owner-operators, independent retailers, or small-business buyers who may ask about price within the first two minutes.
* Clear, easy-to-understand spoken and written English. Our customers are in Canada and the US, and many will take your call from a job site or behind a retail counter.
* The discipline to manage your own desk without someone constantly checking in on you.
* Comfort selling something new. Some of our products are approaching launch, so you will need to sell the outcome without relying on an established name, years of case studies, or a library of testimonials.
* The resilience to handle rejection, adjust your approach, and keep making quality calls.
## Experience That Counts in Your Favour
We can train the right person, but the following experience would be an advantage:
* Selling software, SaaS, memberships, or other subscription products where customers pay monthly and can cancel
* Selling into real estate, including realtors, brokerages, contractors, and the trades
* Hands-on experience with GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Salesforce, or a similar CRM
* Selling wholesale products to independent retailers
* Knowledge of websites, Google Ads, Meta Ads, or SEO enough to hold a credible conversation with an owner who may have been burned by an agency before
* Helping launch a new product or opening a market without an established sales playbook
## What We Offer
* CAD $8–$10 per hour, depending on experience
* Payment twice monthly
* 10% commission on everything you close, including wholesale orders, marketing services, and software
* For anything sold on a subscription basis, commission is calculated on the customer’s first month
* Expected total earnings of approximately CAD $2,150–$2,500 per month at target
* Uncapped commission
* Full-time, set working hours
* A fully remote team
* Direct access to the owners, without layers of management
The wholesale book is still young, which means the accounts you open are accounts that would not have existed without youand they are yours to develop into long-term customers.
There is also plenty to sell. You will have wholesale accounts on one side and websites, advertising, SEO, and a growing portfolio of subscription software on the other. A slower month in one area still leaves you with opportunities elsewhere in the pipeline.
More products are coming. Several subscription products are expected to launch over the next year, and you will be the first person responsible for selling them. That is a different challenge from inheriting a mature product with five years of case studies behind it, and we want someone who finds that opportunity exciting.
## How to Apply
Please send us all three of the following:
1. A 60–90 second voice introduction so we can hear how you communicate on a call. Tell us who you are, what you have sold, and why this role interests you.
2. Two or three sentences about the hardest deal you have ever closed, including what nearly killed it and how you got it across the line.
3. A short explanation of why you believe you would be a strong fit for this role.
We review every application ourselves. Applications must include all three items to be considered.
