About the Role
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Sports Data Analyst with a strong passion for sports and an interest in working with game statistics and performance data.
The role will cover multiple sports, with our primary focus currently being football (soccer). As we expand, there will be opportunities to work with data from basketball, baseball, tennis, American football, and other major sports.
You will analyze game and player statistics, identify trends and patterns, and help turn large amounts of sports data into useful insights.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze game, team, and player statistics across multiple sports
Primarily research and analyze football/soccer data
Collect, organize, and verify sports statistics from various sources
Identify trends, patterns, and meaningful performance indicators
Compare teams, players, and historical performances
Monitor and validate the accuracy of sports data
Create statistical reports, summaries, and insights
Research upcoming games, teams, players, and competitions
Work with large datasets and maintain organized records
Assist with developing data-driven sports analysis and content
Requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail
Genuine interest in sports, particularly football/soccer
Comfortable working with numbers, statistics, and spreadsheets
Ability to research information independently
Strong organizational skills
Good written and verbal English
Experience with Excel or Google Sheets
Willingness to learn new sports, leagues, and statistical concepts
Preferred Qualifications
Experience analyzing sports statistics or performance data
Strong knowledge of football/soccer leagues and competitions
Knowledge of other major sports such as basketball, baseball, tennis, or American football
Background in statistics, mathematics, economics, data analysis, or a related field
Experience with Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or other data-analysis tools
Experience working with sports databases or statistical platforms
Who We're Looking For
You don't need to be an expert in every sport. We're looking for someone who is curious, highly analytical, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in sports.
A strong understanding of football/soccer is particularly valuable, but you should also be comfortable learning and analyzing other sports as our coverage expands.
