## About the Role
We run a portfolio of businesses operated largely by AI agents. We are hiring an experienced search optimization specialist whose job is not to do SEO manually — it is to **teach our AI agents how to do it**. You will document your knowledge as step-by-step processes (SOPs), train the agent through examples and feedback, review its output, and refine its instructions until it optimizes websites, blog posts, and user-generated content with minimal human input.
The scope covers all three layers of modern search:
- **SEO** — classic organic search optimization
- **AEO** — answer engine optimization (featured snippets, People Also Ask)
- **GEO** — generative engine optimization (getting content cited and recommended by Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity)
## What You'll Do
- Design the end-to-end optimization workflow (keyword/topic research ? content briefs ? on-page optimization ? technical checks ? AEO/GEO tactics ? measurement) as clear, written SOPs an AI agent can follow
- Train the agent by reviewing its optimized drafts, briefs, and audit outputs — approving, correcting, and explaining your reasoning
- Set quality standards: what a well-optimized page looks like, what fails, and why
- Build pass/fail checklists for technical SEO, on-page rules, and AI-answer visibility
- Define how to optimize UGC (reviews, community content, UGC-style posts) for search and AI answers
- Monitor results and translate learnings into updated agent instructions
## Required Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on SEO with provable ranking results (your own sites or clients')
- Working knowledge of AEO and GEO: featured snippets, structured data/schema, entity and E-E-A-T signals, and current tactics for visibility in AI-generated answers
- Daily fluency with Google Search Console and GA4, plus at least one of Ahrefs, Semrush, or comparable tools
- Solid technical SEO: indexing, Core Web Vitals, schema, site structure
- Excellent written English — this role is mostly writing instructions and feedback
- Comfortable working with AI tools; you can't be afraid of AI — you'll be teaching one
## Nice to Have
- Experience optimizing UGC-heavy sites (reviews, forums, communities) or short-form content for search
- Experience writing SOPs or training other team members
- Recovery experience from algorithm updates or ranking losses
## How We Work
Remote and mostly async. You'll communicate in written English via chat and short documents. Flexible hours with some overlap for check-ins.

## Application Questionnaire (required)
Please answer all questions in English. Short, specific answers beat long generic ones.
1. Describe your best provable ranking result: the site (or niche if confidential), starting point, what you did, and the outcome. Link public evidence if available.
2. Walk us through your keyword research process step by step, naming the exact tool you use at each step.
3. AEO/GEO: what concrete tactics have you used to win featured snippets or get content cited by AI Overviews/ChatGPT/Perplexity? Name specifics.
4. What are the first 5 technical checks you run on a site you've never seen, and with which tools?
5. Describe a time a site you worked on lost rankings (algorithm update or otherwise). What did you diagnose and change?
6. Imagine you must teach a very literal-minded new employee to optimize a blog post's title and H1. Write the exact rules you would give them (5–10 lines).
